Inexpensive with a nice location
It was a low-budget choice in downtown Waikiki, very convenient to the famous beach and with a full kitchenette. The cheap price was far better than nearby hotels, and a short walk took us to a gorgeous beach and through a nice restaurant/shopping area. The nice woman I spoke to when I made the reservation helped me arrange airport shuttles and transportation to/from Pearl Harbor, and let us check in after hours. Due to the Pearl Harbor visit, we had to leave so early in the morning that the desk wasn't open yet, and they nicely allowed us to leave our things in our room past checkout time until the shuttle came back from Pearl Harbor and we headed to the airport in the afternoon. Many hotels do offer to hold luggage after checkout, but this was more like getting complimentary late checkout, which was highly appreciated. One bad thing- the Pearl Harbor shuttle driver arranged by the hotel cheated us. It wasn't just us, he told everyone in the shuttle the wrong price for the ride ($15 instead of $12- plus I stupidly tipped him $1!), and since it was a cash transaction and the pre-written receipt he handed me after I paid had the right amount written on it, I had no proof. When I tried to complain, the shuttle company was completely unhelpful- they clearly know that some of their drivers do this to people but they do not seem to take any responsibility for it.

Hotel Budget
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/07
If you have a limited budget and expect little, this is the hotel for you! Clean place to sleep, kitchenette, close to the beach - if you have low expectations of what you need or want, this is a great solution for you. If you smply need a bed to sleep in & a clean bathroom to shower, you can save your money to spend on kayaking, snorkeling, or a rental car to the North Shore. Great staff, clean room, low budget furniture. Perfect price.

best buy in waikiki
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/29/07
This happens to be my 4th stay at this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Super location, the best value for money, and above all else...safe. Stayed at other pricier places in Waikiki until I found this little gem of a place a couple years ago when everywhere else was booked solid and they accomodated me. This has become my Hawaiian home away from home.

A Throwback in Time!
By jOHNd, 4/15/07
Being lucky and catching a company trip to Hawaii, I decided to tack on a couple of extra days on my own. Not having the $$ to stay at the Hilton, I did some Internet searching before the trip. One of the best prices I could come up with was the Waikiki Prince. Now, being the pessimist that I am, I didn't have high hopes, but thankfully I was wrong. First off the service was top notch: Mozah kept in touch by e-mail constantly to let me know how the reservation was going - and was able to score me a parking place (there are only a few) at the last minute. (He was kind enough to contact the hotel across the street about overflow parking in case it was needed). I arrived VERY late on a Friday night after island hopping from the Big One. A note on the front door instructed me to my room, which was clean and ready to go. The throwback was that it was like being in a coldwater flat in Manhattan! I had the very last room all the way in the top corner of the 6th floor. Had to pull my luggage up from the 5th floor since the elevator stops there. A note on the table in the room let me know I was ready to go. The location of the hotel is right next to a hostel, and it was a bit noisy on this Friday night, which made me fell all the more like being in that coldwater flat (voices, truck noises, music)! There were slatted glass windows that seemed like something out of the 60's, and the lack of curtains had me a little perturbed, but a couple of well placed bath towels cured that. The A/C was a bit noisy too but I was so tired it didn't really matter. Since I was planning on being up and out by 6am the next morning, the size of the room really didn't matter either: clean, dry, and comfortable was all I needed and was what I got - and the price couldn't be beat! The fact that everything was handled so well made it all the more pleasing. So, if you need something inexpensive but not fancy, and want to take a step back in time, the Waikiki Prince is the place for you!

Great inexpensive hotel - clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/06
Stayed here twice in last two years, perfect hotel, best cost deal in Honolulu. Clean and friendly hotel. 200 feet from the beach, no beach view, middle of everything.

A real discovery!!!
By alvin f, 10/6/06
I found it to be very clean and the staff very helpful. It was a very short walk to Waikiki Beach and everything else, so I went to the torch lightings and free hula concerts every evening at the Banyan Tree. Fun! A ABC store is around the corner and a great little cafe is up the street. I am very happy to have found this place. I'll always return.

Killer Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/06
Great price, great service, and one block from the beach. What more could you ask for? The rooms were small but clean and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Reserve parking early if you are renting a car. The hotel is right next door to the $300+ luxury hotels. The best buy in town.

We shall come back!
By benigna m, 10/28/05
Place is very close to the famous Waikiki beach ! Fantastic ! Staff are friendly and nice. The rooms are clean and tidy, also not so small and not so big. The only flaws is that the mattress are a little saggy and the pillows are getting old. Overall, it's nice to go back!
