Americana Hotel, Arlington

Price was right, but internet service stunk most of the time, very spotty and slow. Front staff not very friendly. Charged the wrong rate even with my comfirmation letter. Given room with a bad tv and was told I was given that becuase the people in the room I reserved "stayed over" without reservations and them would not kick them out so my reservation took second place. If you want a cheap clean room go for it but do not expect too much!

Great hotel in a great location. Very accommodating rooms and staff. Great breakfast, access to running paths, shopping, and restaurants. Would book this hotel again.

Ideal location. Just 2 blocks from the Metro. Very clean. Fresh towels everyday. Great value for money. Good breakfast and they extend the hours a little if they see more people. Thats very kind of them. Wonderful shuttle service. Though we didnt have to use it much.If I have to visit DC again this will be my best bet again. If you are looking for a fancy place with pool spa and stuff u will be disappointed. But i just wanna clean and nice and SAFE place to stay and see DC this is a good choice.!

I got into Reagan at 1am for a 9am meeting the next morning. I had booked a room at the Americana so I could still get a good night's sleep prior to my meeting. However, when I arrived, my room was gone and nothing else was available in the surrounding hotels. The clerk was at a lost as to how to help beyond offering my the couch in the laundry room. I started calling around and finally found a place in Maryland. While they did pay for the cab ride and the hotel room in Maryland, I still lost 1.5 hours trying to find the new room and another 1.5 hours trying to get back into DC the next morning in rush hour. Three hours of sleep was barely enough for my meeting. I would avoid this place.

we had a very difficult time fining hotel - called a front desk clerk not at all friendly. When we finally arrived desk clerk watched as I struggled with a toddler and all my bags to get up the stairs. Hallways had terrible smell. Rooms were ok but very old. Free internet and 1 block from metro made it worthwhile.

For anyone visiting Washington DC and just needing a clean and comfortable room with friendly and helpful staff without the bells and whistles of more expensive hotels, then this is the place to stay. Close to the Metro and easy to get around. Excellent.

The Americana is a little rough around the edges but the sheets were clean and the towels very soft and absorbent. The price and location can't be beat. It was an easy 2 block walk to the Metro and had I known how easy, I would have taken the Metro from the airport vs. SuperShuttle. Couldn't get an internet connection in the lobby. Connection info according to my laptop showed 15 people connected which probably explains the reason why I couldn't connect.

The ONLY 4 cons are they need a better breakfast, lights in room could be much brighter, and they could use a microwave in the rooms....Internet is so-so & could be better not in connectivity but the speed. MIGHT be cons if you're looking for spa services or more frills.

We had a positive stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful from check-in through to check-out. Room was a good size, was clean and was tidied daily. The rate was good value too. The breakfast was good, but was a little crowded at times as the dining area wasn't huge, and there was a tour/school group there one morning. Located close to subway and shops. Our only difficulty was finding the place as the driving directions weren't specific enough for two Aussies. We picked the location was we didn't want to drive to the centre of Washington, and were happy to use the subway to get into the city centre. The guest laundry was also a bonus. All in all, would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay

The Americana Hotel is a fabulous place to stay. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Washington. From its convenient location (a 5-10 minute walk away from 2 separate Metro stations; very near Reagan Airport and downtown DC) to its helpful and friendly staff to the quality of the rooms to the continental breakfast (with a variety of foods to select) to the fantastic value, it's difficult to top an experience at the Americana.
