Grandview Inn, South Point

well I read all the reviews and drove over there to check it out for a wedding I needed 10 rooms for and now after reading and seeing for myself I decided it is not the best pace for my out of town guest. I think they need to fire there managers and get rid of half there house keepers. Ad beleive me I will make sure this gets around to other travlers I no alot that travel this way and will tell them to avoid this area

We had to move to Huntington, WV for my husband's job and ended up staying here because it was the cheapest place near Huntington we could find. We've been here two days as of this review and it's horrible so far. There are beer bottles and ciggarette butts everywhere outside and we've been asked if we want to buy or sell drugs no less than 7 times. The room itself is relativly clean, though the bathroom and sheets are less than stellar. The biggest problem we've had is with the staff. We were supposed to have a refridgeorator and microwave and chair in our room that we requested when we reserved the room and have yet to get it, it's cost us a lot of money to not be able to have groceries and to have to eat out for every meal. The woman at the front desk has said "Well, the maintenence men were supposed to do it, I guess you'll just have to wait until tomorrow." 2 days in a row and refuses to connect me to the manager. The pool is filthy, so I wouldn't swim even if I was willing to brave the horde of crackheads outside. The housekeeper doesn't clean particularly well and refused to bring us extra towels, though after I gave her $2 she found a "Do not disturb sign". The chain lock on the door has been broken off and the remote control does not work for the tv. This is one of those hotels people live at long term.

This place is excellent. Sure it does not look the greatest from the outside but it is definately great on the inside. Great rooms at really reasonable prices. Looks clean smells clean IS CLEAN! Equipt with an outdoor pool, full breakfast bar, beautiful courtyard, club.wifi, full cable, friendly staff and gorgeous view .. its definately worth a stay. Granted it is kind of old so it does need work but at least they are getting it done. I would say when they finnish it could easily be worth 5 stars! I am a mother of 2 and would definately bring my children hear again! :):) The towels, sheets and pillows are all soft and cozy, and the staff is wonderful. Please remember looks can be decieveing give it a try :):)

this place was a dump...yes they gave me a re-modeled room with all the drywall dust in the mattress, new sheets that have never been washed....all that felt great trying to sleep, which i never got to do because of some crazy woman screaming all night and the hotel employees fighting with her....then there was paint,drywall dust,chucks of drywall,spider webs in the corner's. then to top it all off the sewer backed up every where....my friends room he could not flush the tolit or even take a shower...the tub had floaties in it...my tub was just dirty not a clean place to even lay the soap...no phones in the room and good luck finding an employee on the grounds...the pool is very small and not real clean...i am sorry but this is no place to stay....it sucks...i have tried to call the general manager Karen Chapman everyday from the day i left but guess what she wont return my call....so if you have a problem the lady at the front desk dont know anything and the manager is a piss poor one.

We didn't actually stay there, but we had a reservation. We pulled in and were surprised b/c the picture on the website was extremely misleading. All we had to do was walk in the lobby, where the receptionist didn't even look up at us, and we decided not to stay there. Take one whiff, and you'll know what I mean. (PS, at the hotel we ended up staying at, the receptionist told us that they had had about 3 fires in the past five years.)

we were there several years ago, and it was really nice. the rooms were clean and nice. we are thinking of going up this weekend. we live in wheelersburg and it's a get a way for us.

This hotel looks terrible from the outside, I'm not going to lie. Some of it was destroyed by a fire, and it looks like they're trying to fix it, albeit very slowly. It is simply your basic motel, rooms are fairly old, but relatively clean. Bed was comfortable, rate was cheap, and the staff was friendly. There were only about 10 or 15 cars in the parking lot when we stayed here (middle of August), and combined with the fire damage, kind of created a depressing atmosphere. In summary: not bad, not great, but affordable.

a pleasure to stay in, the people were kind, and the housekeeping staff were excellant. managment was great also, everyone at that hotel, was great. the room was in good shape, was not dirty or nasty, i did not see any flees or have any jump on me. the room rate was good too, afordable. i will be going back soon. i loved it there.

My dog never had until we stayed at the Grandview Inn. I put him in the bath tub and about 50 fleas were trying to get away from the water. The place was awful. We won't be staying there again.

Very trasy motel. I can't belive city is not closing this motel down. I will never stay at this motel again. it was very bad experiance.
