Colonial Inn, Rochester

The people working there are very nice. It sure isn't fancy, all the furnishings look like they are from a thrift store. It obviously hasn't been remodeled EVER, but everything works. It is quiet, conveniently located near Mayo, definately inexpensive. The maids clean every day, there is coffee and plenty of donuts (YUM) in the morning. I know plenty of people who would NEVER stay there, but for me it's just fine....I have stayed there three times. There are times they don't have any available rooms, so SOMEBODY must agree with me.

We were on the 3rd floor. We had to put the bedspread up over the window to stop the cold breeze from blowing over us while we tried to sleep. Temperature outside 20-30 degrees. We were booked for 5 nights. Checked out after first night. I can only imagine what was on the walls. Very dirty place. Even after a shower you didn't feel clean. Unbelivable the health department would allow rooms like this to be rented out.

I HAD TO STAY THERE WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. THE HEAT DID NOT WORK RIGHT, THE SHOWER WAS THE PITS. THE SHOWER HEAD WOULD NOT STAY IN ONE PLACE. THE ROOM WAS NOT VERY CLEAN.THEY DID NOT TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE EVERY DAY,OR CLEAN THE SINK.WE WERE TOLD IF MY HUSBAND HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL THE COST WOULD BE $29.00 A DAY BUT WHEN WE CHECKED OUT THEY CHARGED US $39.00. I COULD HAVE STAYED NEAR THE HOSPITAL FOR THAT PRICE. THE PEOPLE AT THE DESK WERE OK . BUT SOME OF THEM JUST DID NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING.

the hotel itself isnt the greatest but the people are very kind and helpful there. they will do anything you ask and they treat you with lots of respect.. we stay there every time i have an appt at the mayo clinic...

Colonial Inn. Its an OK place to stay. Its not a 4star hotel. Yet I was treated as a 4 star guest. James the night clerk was very helpful in bringing my bags and praying for me and my family. God will bring many blessing to that hotel as long as people like James and Ann are there. Overall the rooms were decent not great but decent. For 39 a night you cant beat that in down town rochester.

The hotel is very inexpensive and right across the street of the Mayo Clinic. There staff is very friendly and helpful. They have rooms starting at $29.00. I have been a guest of there in the past and they have made many improvements to the building.

I HATED THIS PLACE!!! THere was a cockroch in the bed and it was so icky in there!!! UGHH
