A time of our lives!

Ohh where do I start! We first visited in 2000 with my fiancée and loved it. We found it by chance as we had not booked in advance and it was the festive season. Most hotels were completely full and we only came across it after driving for about 1 hr north of Mombassa stopping now and then to check for rooms.
The rooms are built using the hut structure and so is the main bar and restaurant. The beach is beautiful and easily accessible. The palm and coconut trees provide excellent shade giving the whole place a lost island feeling. The slow laid back feeling is just unbelievable. From the late breakfast to the dinner on secret candle lit picnic sites. The dinner and light/ sound display at Fort Jesus simply swept us off our feet!
We loved it so much that we decided to get married there in 2002. What a time it was for everyone. The offered us the admirals suite, invited to a wine selection evening, and the sumptuous dinner at the pool side. The actual ceremony was magical. The whole marriage was conducted on 2 dhows which sailed from a location close to Severin Lodge and ended up on Fort Jesus for dinner and the reenactment of the it history through sound and light displays.
We will be going back to Severin in 2005 for sure!
