smoking was so bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/09
the cigarette smoking in this "non smoking hotel" was so bad and the hotel staff would not do anything to stop the smokers. I do not plan to die in a hotel fire because the hotel management is afraid to offend smokers.

Wonderful Wedding
By Anita Thomas, 6/4/09
I had my wedding reception at the Hilton Post Oak a year ago. It was absolutely fantastic! The attention to every little detail was perfect. We several guests that stayed at the hotel for several days and almost 500 guests at our reception. All of our guests were all impressed by the hotel and staff during their stay. Our out of town guests really enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to near-by attractions. The hotel’s wedding coordinator Rachel assisted me in every aspect of my wedding weekend, from the guest rooms, to my suites, and of course my wedding reception. She assisted me tremendously during the planning process and the execution was perfect. My wedding reception was perfect. The hotel and its staff were flawless. I highly recommend the hotel for wedding receptions, special events.

Take Caution
By Not a Fan, 2/28/09
My wife and I arrived at the hotel on a Friday evening. The hotel was really busy with a gala, so the lobby was extremely crowded. The check in staff was friendly and very quick with the check in. We were upgraded to a junior suite, but when we got to the room we discovered the suite was two queen beds instead of the king room we reserved. I called down to the front desk and was told that there were no other rooms available, but after they checked some more they found a king room, but not a suite. The room that we had faced the back of the Maggiano's restaurant, which on a Friday night was quite loud. We left the hotel Saturday afternoon for a day around the city. The hotel is in a great location with restaurants and shopping all nearby. We arrived back at the hotel at 4 p.m. and our room hadn't been cleaned. Housekeeping came to the door at 4:45, and then we found out that the hotel was going to be without power for the next four to six hours. The outage was to begin at 5 p.m. With this being Valentine's Day it really ruined our plans for dinner, as it was impossible to get ready in the dark. The hotel moved us to the Marriott West Loop, I called the manager at the Hilton to express how poor the rooms were at the Marriott. He was extremely rude. I had been on hold for 15 minutes, and could have cared less. He even hung up on me because I asked for a room that was comparable to what we paid for. The staff at the Marriott on the other hand was fantastic. Through no fault of their own they apologized to us for the problems at the Hilton. The front desk staff even brought a rose up to my wife. As far as the Hilton Post Oak the location was great, but that's really the only good thing I can say about it. I would avoid this hotel and look at either the JW Marriott or the Doubletree instead.

Very good stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/09
Comfortable, clean and stress-free stay. Will stay there again. Walking distance to the Galleria and other locations I needed to visit. Only negative thing is the Hilton charges for everything. (ie parking $14 dollars a day, internet approx $11 dollars a day but I guess what can one expect.

dont have your wedding here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/07
I just had my wedding at this hotel... and it was not good at all...the wedding coordinator was there for a very very short time. she promised a lot but she failed to do so. so if you are getting married at this hotel i would think twice. if anything don`t do it at all!

BED IS LIKE HEAVEN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/11/06
We totally loved our stay. The new renovations are so nice and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. I stay in hotels alot and this bed was by far the most comfortable. We thought the price was a little high but we will definitely stay there again.

Not good!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/05
Relatively loud and noisy. Big convention hotel, so if you're looking for something quiet or romantic......this is not the place. Typical large-chain hotel. The lobby is really more like a concert hall.

Essentially a Doubletree
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/05
This hotel is still a Doubletree, but they changed their name to Hilton and raised the price. For the price you can find other hotels that are closer to the Galleria area and 4-stars.
