Keep on driving to the next hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/20/08
I'm sure the Rodeway Inn isn't the worst hotel in Pensacola, but they seem to be actively working towards it. Our rooms were poorly maintained, had roaches, and a convenient half inch crack under the door so their roach friends could visit. The furniture, room and bathrooms were shabby, and had not seen a thorough cleaning in some time. I needed to be up early for a meeting on Saturday, and the bar/lounge had a live band that played until 1:30 AM. Since the walls are thin and the doors have gaps, it sounded like the band was in the room. Considering how poorly maintained the rooms are, the pricing should have been much lower than other area hotels. The weekend I visited, there was a cold snap (30 degrees). When I turned on the heat it sounded like a 747 taking off, and it shot burnt dust into the air. I shut it off, figuring that at least the cold would kill some of the bugs and mildew.

Stay Away
By stronzino, 09/12/05
The Front Desk Clerk was Courteous and friendly. Only positive to my visit. Hotel practically invisible at 1130 pm. Poorly lit and Sign not lit. Room is nasty! Tile shower walls with mildew, stained porceline tub, and mildewed dirty shower curtain. Toilet bowl hasn't been scrubbed recently. Kitchenette has dirty dishes in drying rack on counter. Fridge is dirty inside. A/C barely works. TV Remote doesn't work (seems to be a different brand from the TV). Neighbors had a screaming domestic for about an hour at 3am this morning, and since there is a blocked off adjoining door the sound carries very well between the rooms.

Keep Going
By DerekS, 08/07/05
The room was AWFUL! Moldy shower curtains. Extremely amature repairs to the shower and tiles. Torn carpet. The room stank. If I hadn't arrived late at night I would have kept going. If I were you and this was my option for the night, I would easily decide to drive another 30 miles to stay at ANY!!! other hotel. I am not a picky person in the least, but this is a slum hotel.

ick!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/05
Our room was disgusting. I expected it to be a clean room at the very least. I was afraid to let my baby touch anything or crawl on the floor because everything was dirty and dingy.
