Courtyard by Marriott Savannah Midtown, Savannah

We were very disappointed. I have been a Marriott Rewards member for years and always stay at Marriott hotels, however this was our last time. We stayed here New Year's Eve. We walked into the rooms and they smelled very musty. The next morning, we came out of our room and someone had gotten sick in the hallway. We reported it to housekeeping and even after an hour....it had not been cleaned up. Also, the breakfast is complimentary for only one of the two people in the room. However, they were out of fruit, no bagels or bread and only offered eggs? The beds were so soft, it was awful. Never again!!!!

PROS: 1. Well lit parking and building areas. 2. Clean rooms. 3 Friendly staff. CONS: 1. Reserved King and sofabed. We arrived and were assigned a room which had only a King bed. Requested correct accommodations and was reassigned to a room with King and sofabed. 2. Sofa bed was width of two cushions and barely accommodated two small children. 3. Toilet had a plastic lock on inside which prevented handle from being moved. Chain from toilet handle to flapper was missing thus requiring a truly manual flush. 4. Paid for breakfast as part of room price. Found out that breakfast is limited to no more than one hot item from a small menu or two cold items per person. Cold item choices were either cereal or fruit cups.. 5. Took kids to pool at hotel and observed many beer bottles and other glass containers left by inconsiderate customers in pool area and along walks to pool. Garbage cans were within 4 to 8 feet of many of the bottles.

Stayed 3 nights last week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Will consider staying there on my next visit to Savannah.

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again.

We were very disappointed in the Courtyeard by Marriot. We were going to stay four nights but only stayed one. The room was clean but very overpriced. We had one queen bed that had the TV on a bureau to the side of it. We could hear people above us and to the side of us even though they weren't necessarily noisy. No breakfast was included. Our price was $132 and with tax came to about $149.00. We left and moved to another hotel down the road. For $116.00 we are staying in a suite with breakfast included.

VERY ROMANTIC, ON THE SAVANNAH RIVER, BAR AND TWO RESTURANT IN HOTEL, DOWN ON RIVER STREET WALKING DISTANCE TO SHOPS AND RESTURANTS EXCELLENT HOTEL, OVERLOOKS SAVANNAH RIVER

We stayed at the Courtyard in midtown Savannah which was much nicer than we expected and a great value since we priceline bid it at $75. We enjoyed 2 queen beds in an immaculate poolside room. Which wasn't noisy and offered a clear path and 2 other entrances to the pool. The service at the hotel was great, we even got complimentary drinks for the children (and some great tasting coffee for myself) after the breakfast bar had been dismantled (we didn't eat at the breakfast bar, since Denny's was right next door and offered more variety). We ate at Bennigan's the night before we left since most of the reastaurants closed at 10pm on Sundays and though they only had 2 servers and we had to wait a while to be seated (and even acknowledged), the service was great. Not sure if the waitress was just that friendly all the time, or was providing extra special service because of the inconvenience, either way it was great. Well back to the hotel, the bathrooms in the hotel's lobby and our room (which was pretty big) were clean, well maintained and even smelled good! That's a first. We requested a 2pm late checkout and that was granted with no problem and free of charge.

loved everything about the whole place and location.Will go back for sure.Business center with computer and printer came in very handy.Very clean over all, good coffee, awesome pillows, slept like a baby.

Stayed there in July '05. A little further away than we thought from the historical district, but still only a short drive there. Some food close by, but we wound up eating mostly on/near the River Walk. Good size bed. Nice sheets. Easy high-speed internet hookup. Would have no problem staying there again.

Super clean room, very spacious as well. Great location, just a short drive to the historic district. Staff was very nice.
