Never Again!

Having some years ago enjoyed some wonderful meals at the Internos in De Haan, we thought we would visit again during our recent stay in this beautiful Belgian coastal resort town. We discovered that the ownership had changed 3 years ago but, undaunted, ordered our meals. After over an hour of waiting, the children's meals had arrived but there was no sign of our own courses - despite having mentioned this twice to the staff (and the owner's wife). We were told that this was absolutely usual. When we disagreed we were made to feel like idiots and the discussion had by now attracted the attention of other diners which caused my entire family and our guests great embarassment. When we proposed leaving and questuoned paying the bill we were threatened with the police. We decided that we should wait for the police as by this time we were outraged by our treatment. The owners obviously decided that they would be found at fault should the police attend and we were summarily ejected from the restaurant. In over 40 years of travelling and dining throughout the world I have never been subjected to such abysmal service and outrageous behaviour by a restaurant. Never, ever, again!
