Terrible Customer Experience
By Brock, 11/10/09
We were given a gift certificate to the Settlers Inn worth several hundred dollars as a wedding present from the Best Man of our Wedding. Unfortunately somewhere between the wedding and coming home, we misplaced the gift certificate. Thinking that this was something that could be easily remedied my wife called the Inn, described the problem, and looked to the Inn’s staff for direction/assistance. To our dismay, after 4 calls, repeated broken promises, and NOT ONE returned callback; I called the Inn as well. I was told that although they were aware of the problem, that they did not keep records of our gift certificate (it was paid for with a credit card – how do you not have records!), and that there was nothing that the Inn could or would do to help us; that the problem was OURS in that we lost the gift certificate. I explained that this was not the way to conduct a business, and that I would be informing my Best Man of the circumstances so that he could dispute the credit card charge for the gift certificate and that I would also be writing about my terrible experience on the internet so that others did not suffer through the same poor service.

Not again for my $$$$$
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/09
Cozy and comfortable, pricey and just not worth the cost for a closet size room. The web page makes this place appear to be on a body of water; NOT, it's actually next to the Shoprite. The quoted price was high I felt for the area but I needed the place to stay, then the web page fooled me into selecting romantic package as if it was included in the price then at check out bang I'm tagged with $50 plus a built in gratuity for a room. Not again in my life time will I return but to dine.

Great soft beds!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/07
We found our room spotless, fabulous soft beds. We took 2 kids and received great service- crayons/coloring books at table, booster seats etc. The family room was actually two bedrooms with adjoining bathroom which was GREAT for families with kids.

Settlers Inn Excellent

Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful facility, warm staff and exceptional service. We had a 1 year old with us and had a wonderful late dinner in a small room by the bar.

Depends on when you go...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/07
I have been to the Settler's Inn many times over the past few years. My family even rented out a private room for my mother's sixty fifth birthday five years ago. The last time I visited, I had a great time. The food is expensive, but good. The service can be great, or unfortunately, very rude. It all depends on when you go. I would avoid visitingaround Christmas, because even though it is decorated lovely...snobby pople from out of town set the standard. Even the service personnel get nasty.

Food is Wonderful
By Les, 07/26/06
A friend and I visit The Settlers Inn each season, we live near by. The food is always the best. We love the Piano Music, and the ambiance. The Creme Brulee IS the best, especially with the Starbucks coffee.

amazing staff, amazing food, amazing atmosphere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/06
My wife and I went to The Settlers Inn recently and I must say, I have never experienced such fabulous hospitality any place else. Our waitress was jo, she was a very nice, well versed professional, we are very picky eaters and our food was prepared better than we ever could have imagined. We were staying at the settlers for our 5th anniversary, what a very very special place. Not only is the food excellent but the staff wants to take care of your every need, the chef even came out to speak with us about the food he prepares and all of the influences in his menu. Great Place!!!!!!

Not so special
By Mary Ellen, 07/14/05
I had been looking forward to a nice evening with my fiance to celebrate our engagement. We made dinner reservations days in advance, and were given a choice of a 6pm or 9pm reservation. When we arrived at 5:45PM we were taken to a table in the lobby, next to the sofas that had a group of people having drinks. We asked the hostess to put us at a different table and she just said no. The food was good, although because of the table we could hardly enjoy it. We weren't even able to have a conversation. It would be much better for them to not have given us the reservation than to put us at that table. We won't go back.

A very special place
By JessicaS, 03/19/04
My husband and I stayed at the Settlers Inn for his birthday a couple years ago, and we are going back for our anniversary and New Year's Eve this year. This Inn is 100% charming and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is amazing from the tasteful antiques to the creative farm to table menu. We had a fantastic time antiquing--there are so many worthwhile shops close by. If you enjoy unique, small inns with a special charm, than you can't go wrong with the Settlers Inn. It combines a traditional/lodge feel with luxury...you'll love it!
