Harbor Mist Motel, Wildwood

Just read with interest the post from Kelly - Obviously she is not talking about the Harbor Mist - She or someone at Yahoo Travel obviously mixed up the reviews. First of all, there is no girl at the front desk - The owners of the Harbor Mist are not in the office all day long much like other hotels, but out and about with their clients. In the many years I have stayed there no one handles the front desk except for Richard and Alison. They check you in and it's right back outside to attend to the needs of their customers That was my first clue as to having the wrong hotel. Secondly, the rooms are large and some rooms can accomidate up to six people comfortably. All the amenities one could ask for are provided by The Harbor Mist Motel. The very short distance to the beach and boardwalk is very good (only 1 hotel in from the beach entrance and 4 short blocks to the Boardwalk). The Harbor Mist is one of the best kept secrets in North Wildwood, but let's not keep this a secret - let's tell everyone this is THE place to stay. Call Richard and Alison and you will not be disappointed. They will soon become a part of your family and you will look forward to seeing them year after year much as I have!

Not a good experience. We could not check in on time. The girl at the desk was so rude. The room was a nice size but very dirty. When we complained the manager told us if we didn't like it we could leave.

Harbor Mist Motel on 11th Ave TWO (count them 2) buildings away from JFK blvd & the ramp to go down to the VERY close beach/ocean in North Wildwood. It is the only property owned & operated by the lovely, generous & meticulously caring , clean owners Alison & Richard. I just returned from a vacation and this is only the first one this season and I would not stay anywhere else and haven't in 7yrs. They DO NOT allow animals in their motel rooms THANK G-D cause I am allergic to most BUT have a wide variety of them in their own home...EXTREME pet lovers just not mixed with business/motel end. The rooms are ALWAYS kept VERY CLEAN and they never smell like most of the hotel/motels that are down the shore (hence why they are kept pet free). The property is always clean and every year everything is redone to make it all a fresh & new experience for the always returning clients they have grown to love & expect every season JUST LIKE we clients expect to see everything fresh & well kept and are NEVER EVER disappointed when we get there....As long as they own it I will continue my vacations there...I know them, they know me, I know what they expect as a client & I know what to expect from them as business owners....We make a great match...wouldn't go anywhere else as long as I don’t have to…………..see you guys two more times in September CAN’T WAIT……Faith R (I'd rate higher if they had more options)

Someone at Yahoo has really made a huge faux paus by linking the best motel in Wildwood, The Harbor Mist Motel, to another motel - I would not even dream of staying anywhere else except for the Harbor Mist. From the moment of your arrival, Richard and Alison treat you as friends. Richard and Alison since are extremely warm, friendly and open. The rooms are spotless and their housekeeping staff is extremely thorough and handle any request promptly. The pool area is kept spotless every day by Richard who is out there no later than 6:30 a.m. getting the motel ready for their friends. I feel like I have been adopted by Richard and Alison as the younger (LOL) brother! How anyone could mistake this pristine establishment for any other in Wildwood is beyond me. Pay no attention to any negative reviews on this site -THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! I have vacationed in the Wildwoods for almost 50 yeares and no place compares to the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere these two hard working people put into their motel on a daily basis. They are a dying breed and I hope they never give up this place - I look forward to spending time with Richard and Alison at least twice a year. I have seen Richard go food shopping for people who do not have transportation - I ask you, what other motel owner would do something like that - to most people you are just a dollarr sign but not these two -Another example of how great these two people are: If you are up early and like to have coffee - look for Richard - he is always having his morning coffee with his customers while cleaning around the pool area. For a personal touch on your vacation, make sure you go and see Richard and Alison and it's a very short trip to the beach or boardwalk. They also know the best places in town for dinner or entertainment. The Harbor Mist is must for singles, couples or familes!!!!! What a shame we can only give five stars - this place is definetely a TEN!!!!

The Harbor Mist Motel is located ONE BUILDING IN FROM THE BEACH. Not 4 blocks in. The Reviews below are pertaining to the NEW ENGLAND MOTEL. The Harbor Mist Rooms are kept METICULOUS!

jerry & susie are the nicest people i have ever met=including their family. we respected them and they respected us. i have not been down there in two years because of travel to greece and those wonderful teenage years. god forbid your seen with mom lol. i am trying so hard to go down this year. i miss it so much. but truthfully they were the nicest people. we had three dogs between my mom and i. people complain becuase they charge-if you board you charge so come on. give them a break. i loved it there and i am trying so hard to go this year!! luv ya's

The rooms are deplorable: bad smelling, dirty. Television didn't work. No telephones. The owners were rude and ignorant. If you want to have your trip to Jersey Shore ruined, stay here

called to ask why price was twice what says and got hung up on twice. Asked to speak with owner and lady said she was owner and was extremly rude.

My then fiance and now husband stayed at the New England Motel many years ago. It was the only one that allowed dogs we were very impressed. It is clean,the owners are very nice people, it is not to far from the beach. There are motel rooms and bungalows. There is also a house next door to the New England that a family could rent also. This is a good motel for anyone with family and pets.

Last year 2004 was our first year at the New Englad and it was choosen because of our new puppy. The rooms were clean and did not smell of other pets. I am allergic to cats and I did not have any problems. The pool and surrounding areas were well kept and my 5 year old son had a ball. We plan on going back this coming summer and our pet will be traveling with his family.
