Nice new room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/11
Hotel is completing renovations. My room was completely renovated and very nice! Can't wait to see their new lobby. Looks like from what I could see it should be done soon. If you are looking for a new room with pleasant front desk people, this is a good choice.

Defintely a good experience!!
By Kurt and PattiW, 8/20/08
This was a great place to stay with the family while in the Greater Philadelphia area for vacation. It was much more affordable than the Philly hotels in general, had a pool for the kids, was conveniently located next to I-95 to get to Philly, and the staff was friendly and the accommodations comfortable. There were few if any traffic issues getting into the city from here. It was definitely a good choice and we'd stay there again when we return to the area

Above-average Holiday Inn with a nice executive area
By Shawn S, 8/30/07
Pros: Right off the I-95. Clean, comfortable room. Slightly larger than most HI offerings. Nifty executive lounge with tasty appetizers and drinks served nightly. Pleasant staff, though not necessarily helpful. Home Depot and an impressive wine store located directly across the street. Less than 30 minutes (moderate traffic) into downtown Philadelphia. Cons: Poor signage for the parking lot! Need to turn right into the lot well before the HI sign. Only one of the two elevators worked the entire stay.

Very Nice, But Things to Think About
By new bbrn, 5/28/07
We came to the area for a soccer tournament this weekend (May 07). We stay in 6-8 hotels per year and have become pretty particular about them. Overall, this hotel was a great experience. The most imporant thing in a hotel - to me - is cleanliness. I found this hotel to be very clean and the decor was updated and comfortable. The bedding was exceptionally comfy. We had a king/couch bed room and found it to be very spacious. The bathroom was average sized but nice. Water pressure was very good with a fun shower head that had a variety of stream settings. The staff was nice in all of our dealings with them. The pool was also very nice and clean (outdoor). We didn't try the restaurant. Now the negatives: It was a little difficult/tricky to get into the hotel - you must either make a u-turn at the light and turn into an office park, or turn left at the light, go to the next left turn and turn between parking decks. Not too big of a deal. The room didn't have a microwave or refrigerator - just a coffee pot (which was in the bathroom taking up precious counter space). I've come to expect a microwave. You can pay a fee for the frige if you want one. The one other issue - which is a big one for me - is noise. The walls seemed relatively quiet - but the neighbor's shower was louder in our room than our own shower and the door did not stop noise at all. AND - the worst part - they have a ground level conference center and on Fri/Sat nights there are live bands which reverberate LOUDLY up into the rooms until 11:30 or so. If they are having a wedding/prom, etc... who knows how long the partiers will be making noise. So be prepared for that. We did drown out the music somewhat with the air conditioner fan. We were on the second floor. A higher floor would be better. Overall - one of the better experiences in hotels. Very comfy and clean and quiet most of the time. We would likely return here if in the area again.

Wish I Were There!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/05
The Holiday Inn Select Wilmington/Brandywine is like a home away from home. The staff there is amazing and makes you feel like family. From the front desk, to the restaraunt staff, to banquets and housekeeping, everyone does their part to make you feel comfortable. Keep up the great work!

Pampered in Elegance
By Pauline, 6/8/05
The hotel is beautiful - lovely woods, interesting art and large rooms with great amenities. The staff is wonderful. They are pleasant and helpful and really want to make sure you are well served. The restaurant is excellent. The Sunday brunch had interesting entrees and the dinner was exquisite. Wilmington itself is uninteresting, but the surrounding area has much to offer - Longwood and Winterthur Gardens, the Delaware Art Museum, Brandywine Museum and beautiful views of a great piece of the country.

Sleepless in Claymont
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/05
There were children and adults roaming the halls and pounding on doors until 2am. I purposely selected the executive area so there would be nobody above me but the noise from the hallways was more than I bargained
