Great Hotel.

According to many other reviews, the Tremont isn't that great, but my experience was absolutely phenomenal. If you're interested in walking around the theatre district, exploring the Boston Commons, or touring Emerson College, this is the perfect location. Also, the T is a block and a half away and can take you anywhere you need to go. The hotel rooms have surprisingly bright decorations, and as long as you don't try the room service you should have a great experience.

For the record, In October I finally received credit for the money spent in July in the Rewards program. This happened after several e-mails with a manager at the Tremont who worked hard to get this credit for me. I give him credit for this, but still stick with my original review.

very enjoyable

I stayed in the Courtyard in Dec 2006, and was very worried, as I had read the reviews on this site, although I would suggest a room several floors up to avoid the noise from the nite club. I was delighted with the hotel staff, bedrooms were clean and a good size. The location was excellent. Only down side was the breakfast, not very good, and the fact that the hotel does not do evening meals. Thankfully there were many restaurants nearby. Hotel bar was very over priced. Planning our return visit now.

LOUD! Wish I read the reviews first.

The hotel is in a great location, or so we thought. We picked it because it is right next to the Charles Playhouse. We were on the 11th floor & went to bed at 11pm. After we turned off the TV we could hear sirens and street noise. Took a little while to get to sleep & woke up during the night due to the noise level. As if that wasn’t bad enough at 2am all 4 of us woke up to LOUD music. At least 10 minutes long. I called the front desk & they said that is what the clubs do when they go to close. After the loud music stopped we heard lots of sirens and people yelling. It was finally quiet after 3am. If you plan on visiting at the clubs until they close or are a heavy sleeper, then I recommended this hotel to you. If you want sleep, don’t bother. We stayed on a Saturday night, not sure if this only happens on weekends or every night of the week. I won’t go again to find out. The breakfast was good & the staff was pleasant.

Couldn't have picked a better hotel!

Having never stayed in the city before, wasn't sure what to expect. The location was perfect....right across the street from the Wang Theatre (where I had tickets to the Eddie Vedder concert). The valet attendants were friendly and efficient. The hotel staff was also friendly and helpful. I was on the 10th floor, my room was spotless and was not disturbed by any sounds during the night. Overall, an experience that I would do again in a heartbeat.

Great experience

Recently stayed at this hotel with my family in June 2008 for 5 nights. Had read previous reviews and was a little leery. Hotel is located in the theater district and close to transportation. I have to tell you it was great. Had a double corner room on the 9th floor. Air conditioner worked great and lots of hot water for showers. Lots of space. The hotel and my room was always clean. Noise was only a problem one night when the Boston Celtics won the World Championships otherwise it was very quiet. Free internet computers on the 1st floor and the 15th floor business center. Washer and dryer available for $1 a load. Soap is complementary. Breakfast is available for a fee otherwise no room service. There is a small store with snacks, salads, drinks in the lobby with a microwave available. Staff very cordial and accomodating. Customer Service is #1.

Great location, good price

Right in the middle of the theatre district and only 2 blocks to Boston Common and the freedom trail. Right across the street from the subway. Used AAA and got a much better rate. Downside is the size of the rooms however they are newly renovated.

Keep Looking!

We lucked out and got a corner room which was a nice size, but the bathroom was another story. It was very small, dirty and had a sliding door that didn't slide easily. We were on the 10th floor, but it was so noisy. There is a hospital nearby so we heard sirens all night long. The nightclub nearby is so popular that the police have to clear the streets at 2 a.m. which means more sirens. We never ate at the hotel since there were so many good places nearby - location was good.

very small, ugly rooms; could not sleep with all the noise outside. peeling wallpaper, cigarette burns in carpet in non-smoking rooms.
