One of the Best!
By RobbieLibby, 07/01/09
I recently stayed in Barstow at the Ramada and it was amazing. They offer a breakfast buffet, cable TV, exceptional staff, gym access, 10% off a fantastic Italian restaurant named Dinopolis fire house, and free wifi. The hotel is newly carpeted and the beds are extremely comfortable. I would defiantly stay any time. It was one of the best hotel experiences i have had.

Will stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/09
I've stayed here twice and have no complaints. There are trains that frequently run behind the hotel, but with the windows closed, the noise is minimal. The people at the front desk were very helpful and couteous. On my first trip over Christmas (2008), the lady at the front desk was thoughtful enough to check road conditions for me over Tehachapi and find alternate routes if there was a road closure. Overall, I will stay there again.

Don't stay here, unless you have to
By Tenille C, 03/20/09
This place is waaayyyy over priced, and not the luxery you expect. There is a Friggin' train that runs every 10 minutes, behind the rooms. ALL OF THEM. you can't get away from it.

Stay at your own risk!
By Krystin, 10/17/08
The hotel is very clean, newly remodeled and friendly staff. We arrived after 12am and they had turned the AC on for us and even had the roll-away bed ready for us in our room. Everything seemed great. We chose this hotel because we were concerned with safety. We were pulling an enclosed trailer with Dirt Bikes and gear locked inside. We have had friends get their bikes stolen in Barstow and chose this hotel because they have an actual security guard onsite. We parked under lights next to our room and woke up the next morning at 6am with the back of the trailer open and bike and gear was gone. The part that really stinks is the fact that the security guard wrote an incident report stating that there was a suspicious vehicle but never wrote the license plate number down! The hotel manager actually told me had she known there was a trailer in the parking lot she would have asked the security guard to watch it. She should not have to tell security how to do their job. The hotel room was nice but the town is unsafe no matter what security guard may be "watching".

Hmm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/07
There is no mini bar, restraunt, and no lounge. Cable does not include good channels like Comedy Central or FX Hot Tub is sweet. Breakfast is kinda lame but they do have wafflemakers :) And the girl who runs breakfast is awesome and will help you with anything. What do you want it's Barstow Considering the other hotels in the area and the condition they are in Staying here is not too bad.

A horrible place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/06
Just Awful. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. I was afraid to sleep in the bed. The bed looked dirty like they didn't change the sheets, pillows and cover. You would be better off sleeping outside!

This was a nightmare!
By KathyA, 06/03/05
This was one of the worst Ramada Inns I have ever stayed at. We were on our way to Vegas and decided to stay in Barstow the first night. It was our Anniversary and my husband and I did not want to be tired driving. Our reservations was a mess. We reserved a king and after lugging all of our bags upstairs we open the door and there were two queens. My husband ran back down stairs and the front desk said they did not have any kings available, so we decided to leave. We told the front desk we were not happy and wanted to leave. He said sure but in order to not be changed for the room we had to call the 1800 number. So we called the 1800 number and the person my husband spoke to was one of the rudest people he ever spoken to. Finally after an hour of rude customer service they said we were going to be charged for the room. This was about 8:30PM and we have not eaten and was extremely cross. At about 10:30PM the front desk called and said there was a king reserved for another couple, but he was going to give us that room. We did get our king bed, but this was one of the worst anniversaries we have ever had. We never go to go out to dinner. After two hours of trying to get our reservation fixed there wasn't a restaurant opened, so we had to go through a drive-thru. I will never stay at this hotel or any Ramada Inns ever again. Not because of the mix up on the reservation, but because of the horrible 1800 number customer service.

Bad stay in Ramada
By Jose, 05/20/05
The hotel is well located just of the Highway, that's pretty much all this hotel has to offer, apart from that, it is Old, smelly, dusty and in bad shape... The carpets in the corridor are disgusting, stained, and it gives a very bad impression, once you're in your room, which are old, old, old... You will find that it is musky smelling and the decor has been the same for the past 25 years... I am very dissatisfied with my stay at Barstow's Ramada Inn, it was a terrible experience... The bathtub was cracked and I cut my foot on it, the extractor was dangling from the ceiling right above the shower head...it was NOT a good experience. I complained the next morning and the clerk at reception only gave the stink eye...She told me she had to call the maintenance guy to verify my statement...I was so surprised to see her reaction, She did not believe what I had just told her... I DO NOT reccomend this PSeudo-Hotel at all...Don't stay at Ramada's, I contacted the corporate offices And they simply replied that they are not responsible, because each location is independently owned, and that they regreted I had a BAD experience, but there was nothing they could do. It is awfull customer service, bad accomodations and lousy maintenance. SAVE your money and go to another HOtel. DON't STAY at RAMADA in BARSTOW. Unless you don't care to cut your foot, or get athletes foot or some kind a fungus from the dirty, smelly, oily carpets...

Worst experience in a Ramada
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/05
It was very late. I was so tired. I had just driven from Denver, CO. to Barstow non-stop. I went into the Ramada inn because it was the first Hotel exiting the freeway, there was vacancy, but not a really helpful clerk, non the less we booked 2 rooms a Single and a Double. The clerk couldn't tell me what time breakfast (offered by the hotel) was not available. OK we went to our rooms. On the way to the rooms we saw that the carpet, was old, oily, covered in dirt or something, it had big ugly stains as you walked through the corridor, I was wishing not to fall, because of how horribly disgusting the carpet looked, probably infested with germs. Well we arrived at our rooms and it was ok at a glance, Really I was so tired I didn't care. Laid down and slept. First rays of light that came in through the never closing drapes, and hit me in the face, ok, I woke up, not to happy for the rude awakening, but went to the toilet. With the morning light I could see the room, it was old, it smelled kind of funky, like humidity and dirt, in the bathroom the extractor was dangling from the ceiling directly above the shower, it was disturbing to have that thing over your head while you're in the shower, the bathtub was another thing, it was, How can I say this? It was not only cracked, but the crack had risen, kinda like a little volcano, or some sort of eruption, I cut my foot with the bathtub because of this, it was not a good experience so far, I went down to the front desk to check out, and the lady Who was there took a long time to come up to me, even though I was the only guest at that time on the lobby, after which she asked the same questions she asks everybody all the time, How was you're stay? How did you find your room, and all that, to which I replied that it was not a good room, I informed her of all that was wrong in the room and that I had cut my foot with the bathtub, she did not apologize nor anything similar, she called the maintenance guy over and asked him to go check my room!!! Can you imagine how I felt? After that, she took my AmEx card and swiped it without hassle, I couldn't believe it! She did not even made eye contact! plus it was expensive, this is not my idea of what a Ramada inn used to be!! I know of motels that are much, much nicer and cleaner than this dirty Ramada inn in Barstow. Really I did hope for a discount, probably a courtesy or the least an apology from the manager! but nothing! the only thing I got was a stink eye from the maintenance guy and my check for the night! I will never, never stay in another Ramada inn in my life, and I will make all things possible to tell as many people as I can of my bad experience in the Ramada inn.
