Slice of Heaven
By Mike, 10/30/09
What a place to get away. Sounds of the ocean, quite music, and a cozy fire. WWI was built for romance. The rooms have great views and are very private. They also bring breakfast to your door. How great is that. Can't wait to go back.

Our favorite getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/09
Kazie and her staff at the Whale Watch Inn, go out of their way to guarantee that your stay is memorable. Everything about the Whale Watch is spectacular from the large rooms, fireplace, tub for two, awesome views of the ocean, quiet private beach, sound of the waves at night, delicious breakfast delivered to your room, private balcony, and the friendly staff. Whale Watch is the perfect place to spend that special day whether it is an anniversary, birthday or just to get away from the stress of everday life. It has been our special place for the last 17 years and we plan on many more stays at the Whale Watch Inn!! We definitely recommend the Whale Watch Inn!!

A little slice of heaven
By Tracy, 04/19/09
We loved staying here. The rooms were very clean, cozy and the little basket of wood on the porch every day was great. We loved the breakfast delievered to our room every morning and the staff was extremely polite and made us feel at home. This was pretty expensive and we missed having a tv. overall it was very pleasent but we need tv.

fairytale weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/09
The whale watch inn was a fantastic romantic getaway and i will defiantly go back. The staff was soo friendly and they got our room ready for us early, had wine to greet us and a fire going to keep us warm. We went there for valentines weekend and even though it was stormy the view was breath taking. We even ordered in dinner and it was perfect. Its well worth the money if your looking to rekindle the flame in your relationship.

Best Romantic Getaway in the Bay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/09
When we arrived, we were given a warm down home welcome and a tour of the property, main house and room where we were staying. A cozy room cannot even describe what we experienced. Our room had complementary champaigne from France, chocolate cake and flowers. The view was stunning, and we had a private deck. The whirlpool tub was a welcome evening ritual after a day of driving and touring Mendocino. Saturday night, the owner treated the guests to a wine, champaing and light fare of sushi, ribs, stuffed mushrooms and greek olives. All of this in front of a warm fireplace. However, the best part of this getaway is the full breakfast we got delivered each morning to our room. The menu is prepared on site, and ours consisted of muffins, coffee, fresh fruit, juice, and warm cinnamon raisin french toast. The views are spectacular, and there are 130 steps down to the beach where you can fully experience the power of the ocean. The staff is friendly, extremely professional and the place is immaculate. And, you get all this for a very economic price that can't be beat. We will recommend the Whale Watch Inn to all of our friends, and we will certainly be back at least twice a year. My husband and I visited wwi for our 25th anniversary. It was a perfect trip. Kazie and all of the staff made our stay very special and treated us like royality. The inn, ground and views are beautiful. The quiet serenity of the inn was a great escape from the busy lives we have. We will visit again and can't wait to go back. We loved this place
By carrie, 12/01/08
The Whale Watch Inn is truly one of a kind. Ocean views and weather were stunning. We had fog all the way up the coast from SF, then sunny weather about 10 miles south of Gualala, where is was clear and sunny. Stayed that way too. The innkeepers were so nice and they have a Saturday night get together for the guests with wine and snacks. I have been 4 times and always meet the most interesting people for all over the world. I love all the rooms and all have wood burning fireplaces with private decks. A great place to get away when you are stressed or with your partner. They even have a private stairway down to the beach. My financee and I walked on the beach and had a lovely romantic weekend.

Our Favorite Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/08
We love the ambience of this place. We've been regular guests (8 times over the course of 14 years) and we've stayed in the Silvermist, the Bath Suite, and the Country French Suite rooms. We live in the Bay Area and find it difficult to "unplug" from all the stimulation that exists in our world today (cell phones, emails, work, etc.). We come to the Whale Watch Inn to celebrate our anniversary and it doesn't take long after arriving to find ourselves focused on what is really important again. When staying at the Whale Watch Inn you can recharge your batteries, take naps, go for walks on the beach, enjoy the fireplace and the hot tub, and make your relationship with your partner the most important thing on your list of stuff to do for the day. The rooms are always immaculate; even when you leave your room late the staff will still go in and tidy up, put up fresh towels, get new firewood and bubble bath for you. The breakfasts are delicious and unique, something different each day you stay there. They have fresh flowers in the room and on the grounds which are a wonderful to look at . . . and they have a lovely cheese/wine/fruit/cracker tray that is perfect for enjoying while soaking in the two person hot tub. We like to imagine that all the people who have come to the Whale Watch Inn have left their positive and loving energy behind for everyone to enjoy; you have only to read the many passages written in the diaries each room has kept over the years to know what an amazing place the owners have created. We laugh at the passages we wrote so many years ago when we first found this place and trace the path of our lives and relationship through these diaries each year when we return.
