On the grungie side and unexplained extra charge

This room was fine, but a little on the grungie-side. It was a bargain for the bay area - maybe you just "get what you pay for". The continental breakfast was tremdously lacking. We would have just chalked this up for experience (not a repeat) and kept it to ourselves but then an additional, unexplained charge was added to our credit card. Still waiting to hear back as to their justification for this charge.

This place was fine

If I had read all these reviews first, I probably wouldn't have stayed here. I'm glad I did because we saved some money and it was close to where we needed to be the next day. This was a typical Travelodge. Not bad, not luxurious. If it seems pricey for what you get, it's not if you compare it with other hotels in that area. We had no trouble with smells, rates, or anything else. The room was fine - clean, everything in working order. The continental breakfast that was included in the price was surprisingly good. I'd say you could do a lot worse than this Travelodge!

Advance rate quotes are not honored

Worst experience ever at any Travelodge or comparable motel. Am a business traveler. Received a rate quote of $55 prior to check-in for long-term stay. Daily rate was increased four days later to $59 (no prior notice given). The following week rate was increased to $69, and a few days later it went up to am $89. This is so dishonorable that the only word that comes to mind is outrage. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

You won"t see me back there

The room/bathroom were filthy,the sink had a crack in it allowing water to drip onto carpet below, we were awakened at 2:30Am by the office after a 14 hour drive and asked if we were having a party in our room, then asked us to find out who was partying. they decided to clean our room that morning and we did not have access to the room until 9:30 that night, and the carpet was still wet from shampooing, will I ever stay there again?? I don't think so!!!

The actual overall stay wasn't too bad. The service was something that could be improved. When I got to the hotel, I had to argue with the night attendant over a room that I had booked, but couldn't get. I was overcharged due to their mistake, & then was told I had to change rooms the next day. I do have to say that the rooms were fairly clean with a decent balcony view. I would however, recomend purchasing tickets through expedia.com as they are cheaper there.

Better Luck next Time

For the one(s) who missed staying at the larger and more adequate hotels along Hwy 101, in Novato. Rooms and amenities too small and inadequate; that it is along Hwy 101 - too loud. With more patience and willingness to drive a few miles more toward San Francisco, could have resulted in better facilities and a more accomodating city.
