A Lovely Place to Stay -- Rave Reviews
By TrevorM, 07/17/08
In all honesty, I have nothing negative to say about the Blackberry Inn. The staff (desk, gardeners, maids) were all so friendly and it made our 3-night stay that much better. I've never written a review about a hotel before, but this place deserves all the stars it gets. It's in a nice, private location, and that suited these Bay Area dwellers just fine (plus, we were trying to escape the smoke from the CA fires, and the cool, partly foggy weather did us a world of good). Some travellers/vacationers might prefer other places or amenities, but the quiet simplicity of this place is just what we wanted. In a couple of words, it's a superior place for the budget-minded, and it has all the good stuff. Thanks!

A Fun Setting
By Richard, 08/26/07
This is a very interesting and distinctive Inn that looks like it stepped out of an old Clint Eastwood Western. We stayed in the "Saloon" which came complete with swinging doors on the outside! The room was comfortable inside, albeit a little small. But the beds were cozy and the chairs comfortable for reading/lounging. There was a little view of the ocean out over a grassy field. There are no special amenities here, the place is comforable but not fancy. It is east of the main town of Mendocino, so you will have to drive a couple of minutes to shop. The price is nice for the area and it's a lot more fun than a plain hotel room. But if you want feather beds and hot tubs better look elsewhere.

You can't find a more relaxing Inn for the money anywhere on the coast! My wife and I spend a great deal of time retreating to the coast when ever we can and the Blackberry Inn is the place! Located just above town, great rooms, friendly flexible staff, you can't go wrong.Check it out!

Oh No!
By HBT, 08/15/06
I made reservations online and we didn't find out until we got there that it's a old western themed motel. Not quite what we were looking for. We paid more to get an ocean view, but we could barely see the ocean through all the trees. Good for kids but not great for a romantic weekend.
