A Motel 6 would be much better
I read the reviews after I pre-paid for a reservation for 3 nights. The hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The furnishings look like leftovers from the 70's. And I'm not sure they've cleaned it since then! It took changing rooms several times to get one that was acceptable:
Room 1 - Dirty, dingy and dark. Also next to the elevator/ice machine and was VERY noisy. Carpet was very stained -you wouldn't want to walk barefoot on this one.
Room 2 - Hotel is supposed to be completely non-smoking. Well this room had smoke so embedded in it, that your clothes immediately picked it up. It wasn't just the air, the furnishings had smoke deep in them. I wondered if this room was originally a smoking room that had not been 'cleaned' or 'refurbished' to remove the smoke from it's past. They had no other rooms except #1 above, so spent 1st night here. I packed my suitcase in the morning and told them I HAD to have a non-smoking room for the remainder of my stay. The front desk handed me a key and asked me to check the room before it was assigned. When I went to that room, the key worked but the room was locked from the inside. Someone was in still in the room!
Room 3 - I was ready to leave if this room wasn't acceptable and deal with disputing the charges to get out of the pre-pay! Finally this room was smoke free, smelled fresh, and acceptable (even with the 70s furnishings).
Other things to note:
-They say they have free wireless, however, it never worked the entire time I stayed there. It would allow you on-line access for about 3-5 mins at a time then drop the connection. Very frustrating.
-The elevators in the afternoon frequently smelled like they had just been sprayed with ant spray. They need to be more considerate for people sensitive to these things.
-Vacuuming seemed to be still going on in the hallways as late as 7-8pm at night! Couldn't they do this during the day!
