Fradulent website advertising
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/11
My husband and I stayed at the hotel on June 26, 2011. I made online reservations. Website said NOTHING about being under renovation or pool being unavailable (main reason we chose this hotel). Room was dirty, phone light kept blinking. E-mailed and wrote a letter to management about my complaints with no response. I'd just like an apology! Will never stay here again!

Good value.

Can't complain about anything. Good food, clean. Fitness center was a little small. No free breakfast. Very good price.

Smelly pit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/6/08
Our first room smelled and seemed dirty, so we were moved to a slight less smelly dirty room. Thankfully we were only there one short night. Outdated and run down.

Average hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
i was here in July and had travelled from Ireland i thought when i booked hotel huntington beach it would be near the beach but only to find out it was about 20mins away and we didnt bring drivers licence's with us so we had to get the bus . it was a long bus ride daily to the beach which was disappointing and about 45 mins from Lax airport . only stayed here 5 nights and then went to san diego/vegas thank god as its nothing to write home about . rooms were average and our window didnt open which was horrible not to be able to have fresh air .there is a good mall across the road and i recommed the cheese cake factory it was lovely .if i was to go back to huntington beach i would stay in the hyatt regency which is right across from the beach its a lot more expensive but i have learned you get what you pay for in the end .

A Motel 6 would be much better
By Martha, 7/3/07
I read the reviews after I pre-paid for a reservation for 3 nights. The hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The furnishings look like leftovers from the 70's. And I'm not sure they've cleaned it since then! It took changing rooms several times to get one that was acceptable: Room 1 - Dirty, dingy and dark. Also next to the elevator/ice machine and was VERY noisy. Carpet was very stained -you wouldn't want to walk barefoot on this one. Room 2 - Hotel is supposed to be completely non-smoking. Well this room had smoke so embedded in it, that your clothes immediately picked it up. It wasn't just the air, the furnishings had smoke deep in them. I wondered if this room was originally a smoking room that had not been 'cleaned' or 'refurbished' to remove the smoke from it's past. They had no other rooms except #1 above, so spent 1st night here. I packed my suitcase in the morning and told them I HAD to have a non-smoking room for the remainder of my stay. The front desk handed me a key and asked me to check the room before it was assigned. When I went to that room, the key worked but the room was locked from the inside. Someone was in still in the room! Room 3 - I was ready to leave if this room wasn't acceptable and deal with disputing the charges to get out of the pre-pay! Finally this room was smoke free, smelled fresh, and acceptable (even with the 70s furnishings). Other things to note: -They say they have free wireless, however, it never worked the entire time I stayed there. It would allow you on-line access for about 3-5 mins at a time then drop the connection. Very frustrating. -The elevators in the afternoon frequently smelled like they had just been sprayed with ant spray. They need to be more considerate for people sensitive to these things. -Vacuuming seemed to be still going on in the hallways as late as 7-8pm at night! Couldn't they do this during the day!

Bad Srevice
By THUAN, 5/4/07
When I booked a hotel, and it showed three stars. But I chech in It did not qualified as three stars: old chairs, no sofar, no refrigeretor, old blanket. I don't think yahoo travel have good service.I did call yahoo customer service, and I got three times to tranfer to presentertives, they said it was not their department to take care that promblem.

Had a nice stay
By Brad, 2/25/07
Just finished a weekend at the Hotel Huntington Beach, Our room was clean, and well appointed, and the staff was curtious and helpful. The only problem was the resturant on a saturday night their was just one other couple their in the big and nice looking resturant but though the waitress was nice when we seen her it took 45 minutes two get the hambugers we ordered and when we received them the loooked and tasted like they were sitting around a while before we received them. overall we had a nice weekend eating at the other nice resturants across the the street at the new Bella Tella complex, with lots of shops, eating places, and movie theaters

Big Disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/06
The appeal of the Hotel ended at the Loby. The room was filthy and was years past a remodel. The wall paper was coming off the walls. The carpet was soiled and worn out. The room and any like it should be closed off until they can be remodeled.House keeping really needs to have their eyes checked. It was a very disappointing stay and I'am not in a position to recommend the Hotel to anyone!

Great Value
By Ken, 6/28/06
Nice location. Good price. On site bar is a bonus. AC unit running all night was a bit of a problem, though.
