Never Staying At Anchorage Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/05
1. Outside non-smoking rooms were ashtrays. Guests would stand outside their doors and smoke. The smoke would come into our room through the vents. Nasty smelling!!
2. 6-8 inch step up to get into doorway. Hubby/me both disabled. Very diffuclt for us.
3. We were told that they used queen size beds. Beds were double, too small for our disabilities. Beds were really too soft, also.
4. No hand rails in bathroom. Shower floor was extremely slippery. Even the rubber mat slipped when it got wet.
5. We had made a reversation two weeks in advance because of the 5 start rating on yahoo. When we got there they did not have the room we asked for. Because of our disabilities we had asked for a queen size bed and a down stairs room. They tried to have us take a room upstairs as they had not remembered to save the down stairs room for us. They did give us a room downstairs but told us to only use one bed.
6. The parking lot was dark and there were no lights at each room. Ice machine area is not lit, I tripped in the dark going to fill the ice bucket.
7. None of their ads said that the pool, sauna and hot tubs are only open during the summer. We found that out after getting there and wanting to go use the facilities.
Needless to say, we are planning to go back to Lakeport again, but we will NOT be staying at the Anchorage Inn.
