Pleasantly surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/05
Cut Bank is a very small town so I was not expecting too much. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a good value for the money. I will definitely come back if I am ever in that area, and I would recommend it to anyone. It is clean and seems to be remodeled in the recent past. We enjoyed our stay there.

Good value for a roadside motel
By Gus, 7/4/05
This motel had a few 'surprises' which were quite nice. The spa is actually a real spa (like one a person might buy and put on their deck)! It was obviously new, and there were speakers in the seats, but we couldn't figure out how to work the radio, etc. Also, they have a continental breakfast that includes fresh-made belgian waffles! That was a definite plus. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, and though the rooms were small, they were comfortable.

Nice facilities - Very Rude Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/28/05
Upon our check-in, the lady at the front desk insisted on charging us an addtional "tax" above and beyond the TOTAL ROOM RATE quoted in our online reservation. This little extortion was also mentioned in another review we had read, so it appears to be standard operating procedure there. The rest of the evening was uneventful, and we enjoyed the room. The next morning, however, we discovered the power to be out in our bathroom and sink area. Okay... no big deal- the first thing we wanted to do anyway was take a dip in the hot tub before we started our day, so we'll just mention it to the front desk on our way by. I went out into the empty lobby and stood waiting in front of the counter in my bathing suit and towel, while ****** stared at a computer screen behind the desk. And waited. And waited. Finally, she looked up at me, appearing annoyed, and acknowledged me. I told that her that we were on our way to the hot tub and just wanted to let her know that there was no electricity in the bathroom, and we'd appreciate it if someone could take a look at it. Having worked in customer service positions for many years, I know that the appropriate response to such a situation is: "Oh, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience- we'll take care of it right away!" So you can imagine my shock when she responded curtly with "Well, you should have called down to the front desk!" Standing at the front desk, taken aback, I said "Well, we were on our way to the hot tub anyway, so I thought I'd just let you know on the way down." To this she bitterly replied once again: "Well! When that happens at the next motel you stay at, you should call down to the front desk!" When it became clear that no further response would be forthcoming in this matter, I backed away from the desk and proceeded on to the hot tub, having been thoroughly scolded and chastised, and more than a little shocked. Recounting the interchange to my partner in the hot tub, he was aghast. After 15 minutes or so in the tub, I went back up to our room to shower, passing the still empty lobby on the way. There sat ******, watching TV. On to the room... still no electricity. Obviously no point in talking to anyone about it... I shower in the dark. My partner returns from the tub, sees the situation and immediately begins packing up our room and loading it in our vehicle. After a couple trips, he sees ****** in the office, pokes his head in and asks if she is the one we spoke to regarding the power outage in our room. Looking around furtively, she finally says: "I suppose I'm not too busy now..." (We're the last ones in the motel- except for us it was long abandoned). She looks around some more as if to discover some magnificent excuse, then say's "I'll get the keys" which are right behind her on the desk. With no apologies, and a couple fumbling excuses, she finally walked up the handful of steps, opened a breaker panel a few feet from our door, and turned the power back on. We left as quickly as possible- and will not be back.
