Get what you pay for!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/10
I have to agree with some of the previous reviews as far as the cigarette smell (but hey, im a smoker) and the younger audience that seems to run the place, but at $60/night, what were yhou expecting? The rooms are not as bad at all as previous people are claiming. It seems that one tiny inconveniece and the whole trip/hotel were aweful. We stayed for 3 nights and happily booked for 4 more. The biggest complaint I had was the loud banging in the room above, but I did love the fact that we had a back door with great access to our car. If you have a problem with the seedy characters that you claim the place is oozing with, then maybe you should reconsider letting your children roam the streets in the city of Tacoma at the wee hours of the night, when the creeps come out to play. lol, writing this review almost makes the stay even more enjoyable. Like my title says, you get what you pay for, and I'm cheap. I will deffinately stay here again. Oh, and they were happy to accomadate my 80lbs dog for no additional fee and no gripes what so ever. Thanks again!

Can't wait to go back
By Jasmin, 2/15/09
I was a little apprehensive at first, due to the bad experiences with tacoma hotels i've had in the past. But this one was extremely clean, pleasant, relaxing and the staff was extremely helpfull. My girlfriend was very impressed which made things a lot better for me (smile). I would recommend this for singles, and young couples.

NEVER Stay HERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/08
This was the worst hotel experience ever! We had 9 hotel rooms for a 10 year old baseball team. We paid more for a group of nine rooms than the regular on-line rate. This hotel is dirty, beds had blood on them, some of the rooms air conditioners didn’t work, the fans in the bathrooms either didn’t work or if they did they were extremely loud, bath tubs had mildew and don’t drain. (How would you like to take a shower standing in 6 inches of dirty water?) Several of the rooms beds were made with flat sheets instead of a fitted bottom sheet and you ended up all rolled up in the sheet at night. When asked to change the sheets all they would do in make the bed with the same flat sheet. There weren’t enough electrical plugs so they run old extension cords daisy changed together to reach everything. When the food would run out at breakfast the front desk would say it isn’t their job to replenish it. When the spoons ran out she finally came over to slam some in cup but when some fell on the floor she picked them up off the floor and placed them back in the box. The windows in the stair cases on the ground level were left open all night. Hookers were in the lobby and never asked to leave. When we complained at the front desk we were told they couldn’t do anything about it. Then when a Dad that was traveling separate showed up and showed ID for the room his wife was staying in he was told that we were mad at them and he couldn’t have a room key. When I want to the desk to ask for an iron because my room didn’t have one I was told that not all the rooms had irons because guest steal them and it wasn’t her job to go find one. Customer Service specifically told us that we only needed to put in one complaint for all the rooms and issue since we were booked as a group to later find out that wasn’t true and event the presidents hotline didn’t really care.

Terrible, worst ever...
By mo, 7/26/08
My family of four does a fair amount of traveling. We recently stayed at this hotel and quickly relocated to a different hotel. This facility is a liability to the Days Inn brand name as there is rampant drug use and prostitution openly on the grounds. No. This isn't a joke. There is no excuse for the level of crime that is allowed to take place. There are other nice hotels in the area (Extended Stay down the street). We had planned to stay for several nights but quickly moved to another hotel after one night. The unprofessional staff refused to credit me. It was worth it to move my family to a safer facility. Here's the scoop. I don't mind Day's Inn - in fact, I am booked in San Diego, Days Inn this week. But, this is by far, the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Ever. When staff allows the criminal element including drug use and prostitution, word spreads that it is a "friendly" facility. From my experience, this Day's Inn hasn't just turned a blind-eye, they have embraced it with welcome arms. Why do I say this? Because my clean-cut, professional, middle-class family was the abnormality at the property. If you question the accuracy of my assessment, you might consider contacting the Fife Police Dept. prior to taking the risk of staying at this facility. Day's Inn franchise should take note. This place is a bad seed. Look at the previous reviews.....

I was injured in the room!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/08
This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The beds are held up by 2 by 2''s which hang out about 4 inches. This was hidden by the comforter and I walked into it. It has been 4 days and I have a large lump and bruise on my ankle that is larger than a golf ball. I called to report it to the front desk and they said, "yeah, that happens" They were very rude. It was also very dirty. (hair on the bed, and in the tub) I rented 4 rooms at one time for a business trip and all 4 were dirty, had several broken items, and were unsafe. In one the closet collapsed when the hanger was moved, one had no microwave, coffeepot or fridge, the other had no clock , etc. etc.

Horrible
By Matt, 7/15/07
I try not to judge a book by its cover but this is not one. Even though the outside of the hotel looked rundown the rooms are usually nice and clean. As soon as we walked into the building to go to our room we were hit by a horrendis smell. It was a mixture of cigarette and sewage. We tried the elevator and it did not work. The swich would light up but as soon as you let go the light would go off. They said that the carpets were just cleaned however it did not smell like that had happened. It was severly stained along with cigarette burns through out. The room was not much better as far as the carpet was concerned. The room did look clean but as we started to put our things away noticed that the bed covers were stained as well as the counters and floor. We turned around and checked right out and found another hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

JUST AWFUL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/19/07
this hotel was just horrible, the first room smelled so bad it almost gave my sister an asmtha attack. we booked for queen beds and got double.the beds were so old and nasty was scard to sleep on them. room not vacuumed, bathroom fiflthy. Requested to be moved to another room, 2nd room not any better. no ironing board, no coffee pot. the toilet overflowed. no screens on the windows. airconditoner didn't work, the front of the airconditoner fell off. the towel bar fell off the wall. the carpet was so dirty, it turned your feet black if you walked barefoot. A small section of the floor was rotting. Elevator out of order so we had to carry our luggage up stairs. You open the window to get fresh air and the air smelled like sewage and rotten eggs. The key card to the room kept not working. The service was just horrible. I would not recommend this hotel to any one, I will warn them about them though. Their pics on the website are very decieving, because our 2 rooms we had wasn't even close to being what they advertise.
