stinky place ! with rude staff
By unhappy girl, 07/31/09
where do I start....I was told by someone that this was an good place to stay when we checked in that should have been our first clue to run the other way the staff was so very rude to us. We went up to our room that smelled like pee and when we called the desk I was told to spray some perfume until they could come up with something, I went down and requested my money back so I could leave and go somewhere that 1, was clean and 2, that did not stink and 3 had staff that really cared I was told NO but I was free to leave which is just what we did so we payed 1 night stay for somewhere we really never stayed. cheap sometimes is just that and thats what you get when you go cheap. so be smart and go else where. thank goodness we never unpacked or bags.

We will never go back
By SueC, 08/19/08
First of all I was promised a ground floor room, because my husband has a very severe heart condition and the hotel has NO elevator. They do have ramps that incline like they were built over the stair steps. Upon arrival at the motel I was told we had the 3rd floor room. I argued with the check in person and told him that my husband could not climb steps due to severe heart condition. He said we have ramps and that was the last room available in the motel. He LIED. There were several empty rooms on the ground floor that night and the next night. I just let it go and we stayed due to already paying for the room when it was reserved 6 weeks earlier. The room needed vacumming and the bath and sink area needed mopping very badly and the commode had not been cleaned under the rim since it was put in. The fridge needed defrosting but that is not a daily cleaning issue. I left all of this on the card at the front desk upon check out. The manager was in the loby (along with several employees and customers) when I went to check out. When I told him of the incident with the personnel checking me in and it did not matter to him that my husband was very ill and should not climb steps he didn't care, even if he died i don't think he would have cared the manager tried to blow me off with well if you had taken a room on the ground floor you would have had to move the next morning. I told him no i wouldn't because he could put someone else who didn't have a heart condition or health issues on the third floor. That is when he said well I guess we could have. He said I wish I have been here when you check in and I said but you weren't and I had to deal with your person who doesn't care about any thing. Then I told him, you need to train your personnel to be more customer friendly when it comes to health issues. I also saw a person using a walker (an older lady) on the second floor and an older man using a hover round on the third floor. I don't think these people realize what danger they put their patrons in nor do they care. Don't stay there if you have a health issue.

Nasty place. Dont stay.
By Danielle, 07/30/08
We recently stayed in July 2008 and were very disappointed. First to get to the lobby, you have to leave and walk around the building (depending on what room you have.) Which in my opinion is very unsafe. The back area is dark and not well lighted, anyone could break in your car without being caught. The pool closes too early. The lobby is small and its the only place you can use Wi-Fi which was very annoying (yes that means you cant use it in the comfort of your room.) The shower had little water pressure coming through. The hotel stunk like pee, even the balcony. My bed was broke, and sank in at the top. The sheets were stinking all night long while I was trying to get some sleep. It was such a horrible stay. It was the worst hotel I have ever been to and stayed at. I thought I was in a Rob Zombie movie and someone was going to kill me. NASTY!!

mother loves it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/08
this is the only place my mother likes. she likes to sit on the balcony and just relax. the staff is working all the time. any problems with the rooms are fixed immediately. there is somewhat a problem with the foreign housekeepers understanding what you need, but they are still very helpful. my mother feels safe with the balcony facing front, she also eats breakfast every morning in the motel resturant. the pool is cleaned every morning. the only problem i have is the animals being allowed to poop right at the trolley stop, you have to be very careful is you are waiting for the trolley. there was also a mix up with my reservation, but Brian, took care of it.

Pleasantly Surprised!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/08
Whew! I had actually made the reservations through another online booking agent after declining to do a "time-share" tour in Pigeon Forge. After I made the arrangements I checked some of the reviews and quite frankly was a little worried. I had no need to worry! We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly front desk man. He took his time explaining coupons, breakfast, locations, etc. Then when we went to the room, the carpet was new, new tile, smelled clean/looked clean. Safe and 'fridge in room. I saw where someone said they paid $400 for 4 nights...not sure I believe that. We stayed 2 nights for $36/night and that included more pancakes and drinks than my two kids and I could eat. (you could also use the coupon for $1 off any menu item if you preferred). It was on the quieter end of the main road in Pigeon Forge, close to Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, etc. Now dont get me wrong, it's not a 5 star luxury resort! It's your classic 2 star mountain hotel that goes above an beyond and you can't beat the value! It was very clean and safe. The worst part was that there is no elevator, but the ramps worked fine. I WILL definitely stay there again on my next visit.

Wonderful Surprise!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/08
I just spent three nights at this Rodeway Inn. I would gladly stay there again. First, the main guy at the front desk was incredible. The girl helping him was the same. This was my first time to stay there, but it felt like I had stayed there many times. I was treated like I had stayed there many times. Secondly, after checking in, the girl at the front desk called to see if everything was okay with the room. Wow! How many people do that? Not many. (The room was VERY clean. It smelled clean. Everything was neat and in place. The bathroom was clean. The towels were arranged nicely. It was very, very nice.) Lastly, the location was perfect. It was close to Gatlinburg as well as being in a quieter area of Pigeon Forge. The room did include a pancake breakfast with drink. This was very good. The restaurant is connected to the motel. The pancakes were very good, but I could not eat them every morning. I had to have variety. If you did not get the FREE pancakes, you only recieved $1.00 off a menu item. That was the only down-side. I would have liked to see more variety in the FREE breakfast choice, but again, the pancakes were better than most continental breakfast offerings. I would stay here, again! Oh, one more thing...I would have loved to have had wireless internet. That would have kept me from having to go to the public library and use my lap top.

We are going there for our honeymoon.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
It's really easy to find. It's a great place. It's real close to all the shows and attractions, and all of the shopping. We did have a small problem with the smoking.
