Town and Country Inn and Conference Center, Charleston

When you see the place and check in, it looks nice, fancy, but its cheap. Staff is horrible, lady working had no customer service skills what so ever, totally blew off people calling in to report power outage in their room, when got to room looked nice, but look closer, wall paper peeling off walls, tv -cheap walmart special lcd with 20 y.o. coaxial running to it so all fuzzy. Heard everything going on in neighbors room and their tv program. parking lot, two drives going down each side of buildings, people like to just stop and park so either you wait or back up and go around entire grounds. wireless network about all good there.

First of all I booked several rooms with them for a Soccer Team there for a Tournament. One of my families were put in a room with a double bed and a COT!! I had booked doubles for all of my group, pleanty of time in advance. But they said they had over booked and were totally inconcerned with our situation. Plus there was no Manager on site and woudl not be until Monday. Lot of good that did us!! Plus the rooms were not worth the money!!!

I spent one night at this hotel(?) on saturday, aug 4th 2007. Let me say that the room did have a big TV and that is the only reason it gets one star. The towel rack was hanging down, the ceiling was covered with mold and mildew plus brown from a leaking ceiling, the carpet was soaked from the AC and ruined a pair of my socks, the only ammenitie was one little bottle of shampoo, and I'm bald, the room was a smoking room, but you guessed it, no ashtray, which took two trips and a delivery from the front desk. The outside areas are disgusting with full trash cans, coke spilleage, etc. on all the walkways. Apparently, someone bought this property after the hurricane and hasn't bothered to invest any money in it. It's about two to three years in need of work. There are many properties in Charleston in this price range....I got hoodwinked for $125. Look elsewhere!!!

To clarify what a previous reviewer said, I can assure you that this hotel is NOT in an industrial area. It is located on U.S. Hwy. 17 (Savannah Highway) in a commercial area near Citadel Mall along with many other hotels, restaurants, shops. While it is true that the majority of the automobile dealerships in Charleston are located on Savannah Highway, this is far from an industrial area. I don't think any industrial area would be located within miles of this location as the commercial property along this stretch is VERY PRICEY!
