Budget Inn New Market, New Market

We had to stay here because my friend is a smoker. My preferred New Market hotel is across the street at Blue Ridge Inn, but they don't offer smoking rooms. The owner was very friendly at check-in and the hotel has a very clean outward appearance. The room was basic. First trouble was some wiring problems. A dead outlet had my friend plugging the TV into the bathroom. I had a bathroom light that worked occasionally. The shower wasn't designed very well and water blew out all over the floor. The shower head was calcified a bit, but it was hard to tell because it was so dark. The air conditioner looked old and gunky. It made a lot of noise. So did the little fridge, but I was glad to have it. Was this a good value at 55 bucks? No. You get so much more at a cheaper rate at Blue Ridge I couldn't justify staying at Budget again.
