A perfect place to stay
By h. jeffreyd, 10/23/08
I've stayed in a number of places in the Winston-Salem area and this one was the best, by far. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable. The period antiques and excellent media system made it feel more like home than a hotel. Great service too! I will definitely will stay here again.

Great Place to Stay in Winston Salem
By Mike R, 12/06/06
We have made quite a few visits to Winston Salem to see our daughter while she was attending the NC School of the Arts. We have stayed the last four visits at the Summit Street Inn and had a great time. The rooms are nicely decorated, the locations is excellent, and the service and food is spot on. There is still a little restoration work going on but that just adds to the charm. Lots of nice restaurants nearby and close to Old Salem. My wife and I look forward to our next visit.

Disappointed....
By TJ, 09/11/06
I had planned a wonderful romantic get-a-way for my girlfriend and I at the Summit Street B&B. I had looked at many B&B's, even cancelling a room I had booked somewhere else after finding room #223 here. After arriving we were informed that, "You already checked in sir!" They had checked in someone else presumably with my last name. We were "expected" to compramise and take another room allowing "their mistake" to keep our room. With each "no" answer from me to the innkeepers many, not so gracious offers, he became less and less friendly until he became out right rude and unprofessional. The B&B itself appeared very nice and I'm truely disappointed that things turned out the way they did. I'm sure anyone would enjoy their stay there as long as no "mistakes" are made that they have to "deal" with. Maintaining ones composure and professionalism doesn't seem to be one of the staffs strong points here.

OUR FAVORITE B&B SO FAR!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/05
We loved our room. It was cozy and private and spacious. Fine dining was within walking distance. The innkeeper was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. Our refrigerator was well-stocked. I enjoyed eating off of the china and the table overlooking the window in the room we chose. We'll definitely return. Also, the shower was big enough for two and the jacuzzi was very romantic with the candles. An experience well done!

Love It!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/05
My husband and I have stayed several times and have loved it each and every time. He and I stayed in the same room every time except for once - it has become our special room. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. This has become our special "getaway" I would not change a thing.

A fabulous inn; we'll be back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/05
We've stayed at many bed and breakfast inns in the past, but none has compared to the excellence we found at Summit Street Inns in Winston-Salem. Our room was exquisite--luxurious, spacious, impeccably clean and beautifully furnished with antiques and works of art. Every amenity for our comfort and pleasure had been considered: a huge jacuzzi tub for two, soft robes, a cozy fireplace, an in-room refrigerator stocked with beverages and delicious food (pastries, quiche and more), TV, stereo, an enormous library of films and CD's, and even a satellite radio by our bedside! Nothing seemed to have been overlooked. Had our stay been longer, we would have tried our luck in the billiard room and taken advantage of the Nautilus exercise room. The staff at Summit Street Inns couldn't have been more accommodating. We requested the specialty of the house for breakfast, and the most heavenly French toast that ever passed my lips was graciously delivered to our room by the morning innkeeper. A number of excellent restaurants less than a block away offered us a variety of dining choices. We will definitely make a return visit to this exceptional Inn, and next time we plan to stay longer!
