Good Value, great stay
By J, 4/11/12
The room rates were very reasonable and included breakfast each morning. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice. The room was clean and adequate. Our room/hallway was quiet. We asked for non smoking and we got it. There was no smell anywhere in the building areas that we went. I was concerned about them allowing pets, but we did not have any issues with dogs barking etc. I think the pets and smoking rooms were housed in the other wing. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The location isn't really prime but we went there to see Duke University, so for that purpose it was fine. There are a few restaurants close by, and the hotel is near the highway etc. so it worked out. Staff was courtesy. Our last night there someone had checked in upstairs that was rather heavy footed on the floor, but we used the tv scene-scape that plays the sounds of waves that night so we fell asleep and slept well despite thunder foot over head. Our only complaint is they have no ATM on site, and no tourist brochures in the lobby to find things to do in the area. But we used the free wifi to find places on our laptop. There is a computer with printer in the lobby you can use too. You do have to drive across the highway to the BP to use an ATM so make sure you have cash on you before you arrive. I would stay here again!

Would stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/19/11
Don't understand the nasty comments about this motel. We had great service and the room was spotless. Considering this is a "pet friendly" hotel, we were very amazed at how clean it was kept. Bathrooms were large and clean and water pressure was fantastic. Beds and pillows super comfortable. BAD: Had some noisy people outside the window at 2 am.. but a call to the front desk, and that was taken care of. Also price was a little high, but would stay there again.

Worst travel experience of my life!!!!!!!
By Tamika Garrison, 4/9/11
Upon checking in the front desk attendant charged to my card double the amount she was supposed to and offered no help in fixing the situation. She then proceeded to be extremely condecending and rude to the entire party of people I was associated with and called the police to threaten us if we "smarted off to her" The room was dirty and the walls were paper thin. I was awak all night listening to the people in the lobby drink and party. It was over priced and the worst overall stay i have ever had, and I travel frequently. DO not let this particular location shift you from all La Quinta. But I would not suggest staying here at ALL!!!!

The worst, save your money.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/7/07
I don't know what the reviews was talking about when they said these rooms where good and clean and worth the money. It was either there standards are extremingly low or one of the staff member wrote them. This hotel has got to be the worst hotel ever built. The rooms are dirty and I know if the health department came to breakfast one morning , I am sure he would shut them down. There was fruit bugs all over the bread, black stuff at the bottom of the orange juice containers, The apple juice taste like syrup without any water. The staff was rude and never at the desk. We went there for my daughter surgery and was suppose to stay at the hotel for 3 days but only ended up staying there for one night and moving to the homewood suites. Please save you money and give it to someone who deserves it and I can save you the trouble, it is not them. They are rude and nasty. Will never in life stay there again.

Good, but noisy and lots of families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/17/05
Good: Courteous staff, close to UNC and Duke, right off of highway, fitness center open 24hrs, indoor poool. Bathroom's are large. Bad: Really bad entrance (via one way street), not centrally located to restaraunts and malls, lots of college students make noise unbearable (esp. on a Friday night when you know what is going on in room next to you...)

Rooms were neat and clean. Laundry facilities were adequate. Location made my other travel quite accessible. Hotel staff was friendly. For a low cost hotel, it is very nice.
