Lighthouse View Motel, Buxton

We've been coming to the Lighthouse View for almost 20 years - we started out in the old fishing cabins, have tried the hotel, the duplexes, and cottages. We really enjoy having a week of nothing but beach, pool, reading, and relaxing. I have friends who rent beach houses. We stay at the Lighthouse View for a fraction of the cost. I think it's a terrific value.

I've been vacationing in Buxton since I was a small child (over 30 years now), and stayed at every hotel in town. The lighthouse view is by far the best. The 1 bedroom villas overlooking the ocean are great for one person, or multiple people. It's a break from the usually small and stuffy beachside hotel room that you get at "chain" hotels. The ocean is only a few steps away, and there is a nice pool/hot tub for those days that the surf is too rough. If you are looking for a hotel like The Plaza or even Marriott, this isn't for you. I've seen too many people come from all over the country, only to leave early or complain all week because there isn't room service or roller coasters or whatever. If that's what you are looking for, I suggest going to Ocean City or Myrtle Beach. This hotel has very comfortable accomodations, very friendly staff, and is very relaxing. As a long time visitor to Hatteras, it is the best place in the world to vacation.

The Lighthouse View Motel is amazing. Great prices, very clean, and exceptionally friendly staff. I have stayed here twice for Spring Break and plan to return as often as I can. The cats wandering around are very friendly and adorable to watch. The ocean couldn't be closer and watching the dolphins play is always the highlight of the trip. I recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to get away for a while. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Lighthouse View Motel has been the site of our annual family reunion for over 5 years now. We discovered this location about 7 years ago and make multiple trips back every year. The staff are always friendly and helpful, everything is always clean, ready on time (or early) and they always go above and beyond to make our stay everything we had hoped it would be (clam digging supplies, advice on places to eat, marguerita blender assistance, the list goes on...) Now when we return my sons, all grown, get out of the car and say "it feels like I've come home"

I've stayed at the Lighthouse View 5 times during all times of the year. The front desk staff are always welcoming, the grounds are neat and clean, and the rooms are clean. Their prices are reasonable and that's all that I'm looking for in a place to stay! They have some cool cats that like to take care of leftover bait too! Oh, they have a couple of fish cleaning stations and ice if you fish. If you need an internet connection, you can log on from the front office.

My husband and I have gone to the beach every year except for the time we were out of the country. We really like the Buxton area as it was so peaceful and relaxing. We love driving our Jeep out on the sand and having our private beach. However, we weren't satisfied with the accomdations until we found Lighthouse View. We had other commitments last year and couldn't make it to the Outer Banks and we can't wait until May. We love the room and the view is amazing. (The cats are great too, so bring some cat food when you come) We watched the dolphins from the deck almost every day. Since we've found the Lighthouse View, we won't be looking anywhere else.

Loved it food is great people are nice. the lighthouse view is a great place to stay, we will be back this year. Very soon.....

We went to the Outer Banks on an off season visit and stayed at Lighthouse View. We were highly impressed with the value for our money. Paying only a little bit more than Hotel rates we found this location had so much to offer for our dollar. We will definitely be returning.
