Cape Hatteras Motel, Buxton

This place is a dump. Cheap furniture.........Dirty.

Things could not have been better for our vaction in Buxton. We arrived early and were expecting to have to wait for our room but it was already ready. The room was spotless and fully equipped. We even had a flat panel TV in our bed room. The town house was right on the beach, so close in fact that I could watch my kids play on the beach from the porch! The weather was beautiful and the staff at the Cape Hatteras Motel were VERY friendly. I can't wait to go back and I've already booked my room for 2 weeks next july. If you were ever looking for a place to stay in the Outer Banks then this is the place for you!

We just stayed the weekend at the hotel and could NOT have picked a better place to stay! We were across the street from the beach. We had a lovely pool (AND jacuzzi) all to ourselves 95% of the time. Our room was VERY clean, there was not a grain of sand on the floor! There was a fully loaded kitchen with all plates, utensils, pots/pans, glasses, etc. They even supplied the dishwashing detergent and broom! There were 2 bedrooms with 4 beds! We could not have been HAPPIER!!!! We will definitely stay there nect time!

We just got back from Cape Haterras Motel. It's a good place to stay because of its proximity to the lighthouse. We even got a 15% discount with the 2006 Outer Banks Getaway Card found in The Outer Banks 2006 Official Travel Guide we picked up at the visitors center on the way in from Nags Head. Our oceanfront view was nice. Rooms were accomodating with refrigerator, microwave, and HDTV. The biggest drawback was that none of the rooms were non-smoking, but they had let us borrow their ozone generator machine to neutralize the air while we were out for an hour. Also, they did not have a crib for our toddler. Nevertheless, our kids enjoyed picking up the variety of great seashells that washed up in front of the hotel.

Centrally located on the outer banks, 1 mile from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Great local restaurants. Very impressed with motel accomidations. Stayed in a townhouse on the ocean front. Already have reservations to go back.
