Miss It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/10
My parents owned Hillwinds Inn when I was younger. I've been looking at pictures and the remodeling looks very nice. I'm glad it still has that old charm that I remember, mixed in with the present. It's tasteful, and I miss it so much.

Very Comfortable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/07
We just stayed at this Inn on Friday, December 21, 2007. The king size bed was so very comfortable. The location was great, however, too cold to walk to shopping. The flat panel TV on the wall was very nice. Our room also had a small fridge for our drinks. It looks very old from the outside but the inside was nice and very clean. Our cost was $119. for the night. I think it should have been in the $90.-$100. range for this time of year. We really enjoyed our stay at Hillwinds.

It was awful.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/07
This place was awful. It was very loud, and we could not sleep until midnight. They refused to move us to another room. Not peaceful at all. Don't go here if you want a relaxing vacation.

Highly recommended
By Tim, 11/08/05
I stumbled on this place while online, researching a trip to Blowing Rock. They have 3 different locations - we stayed at the "Village Inn" on Sunset Drive. After spending 3 days in this great town and checking out the other available options, I'd honestly say this is the prime place to stay. The room was awesome and included a private deck, free breakfast in the morning and wine & cheese in the evening, and a 3-5 minute walk to downtown. It's also right next door to a restaurant named "Twigs" - which came highly recommended (although the overall food quality in B.R. is questionable at best - the only part of my visit that wasn't 5 stars). Great service here as well. The website doesn't do this place justice...I will certainly be heading back. P.S. If you haven't been to Blowing Rock, check it out. We went during the autumn - the drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway was awesome, Main Street is cute, and everyone was friendly. Lots of people in town looking at real estate...this place may not be a secret for much longer.
