Sunny Shore Resort, Daytona Beach

The hallways smelled like urine. The rooms are so small, the maid came by the room twice in the week we stayed there. People was smoking weed just doors down. They have a very hateful staff. It rained 90% of the time that we was there and we was stuck in these tiny stinky rooms.

Dirty pool, rude staff, incompetent reservationists, general disregard for guests. The whole place is not being taken care of and the office staff are rude and incompetent. The room was clean but this place has screwed up our reservations for the past two years. That on top of how the place has gone steadily downhill makes us want to never go back. It's a shame - this used to be the nicest place on the beach.

We booked this motel on its reputation of 10 years ago and will never go back. Horrible maid service, pool was hardly ever clean, not family friendly--especially on weekends with a party crowd that comes in. The office leaves at 5:00 so if you lock your key inf your room, or need toilet paper or towels you are out of luck. If you have to leave early they will not refund your money and even if you are dissatisfied they will not refund your money. This motel is old and outdated. Its a shame, because it was a nice resort, now the Ocean Waters Corporation is letting it go downhill. The manager is nice and reasonable, but the office staff is rude and degrading. Will never go back and would never recommend to anyone!!

Pee stains on the toilet. Dried fecal matter on the toilet. No one was at the hotel to see if we can switch rooms to see if another one was cleaner so we left. The hotel charged me when it was a pre-paid reservation, so I was double billed as they said I didn't cancel; but you can't cancel if no one is at the desk to tell. I had to go stay at another property, which was more costly as I had booked this reservation months before. I wasn't expecting a great hotel, but clean is always expected. The room seemed to have just simply not been cleaned and we would have taken another room, however there wasn't an agent at the desk; they were closed.

The rooms are clean and neat but the mosquites was bad beacuse of the condition of the property next door also you have to hunt some one to check in even during the day the office is not keep open like most places.I was there for 5 nights and never saw the pool area cleaned . I checked in on a Saturday and no one cleaned my room until Monday after that they cleaned each day . This property could use some repairs .

My family and I had stayed at this hotel for several years while it was under different mangagement. It was clean and we never had any major problems. The property has been under new management for the past two years. We did not stay there last year, but decided to give it a try this year. When we arrived our non-smoking room smelled of smoke and a cigarette was left in the toilet. Our air conditioner went out that night. No one showed up to fix it the next morning as promised. The staff on duty that morning accused us of having our room door open. My husband corrected her and we were given a new room later that day. Most days housekeeping did not clean our room or make our beds, they would leave clean towels on top of the toilet. One day, they did not even come by at all. We made our reservations for next year at a different hotel.

The rooms are very clean, room cleaning girl Cassie does a great job as does the rest of the team. We have had some minor issues but the manager did a great job getting things corrected promptly. We'll always recommend staying here. David, Ed, and Alley

it was soo clean ..and the staff was not bothersome like some upperclass motels..it was right on the beach as promised and the rooms were superb..I admit I was really scared at first because a couple of the reviews.But i think those ppl just had a bad experience .I wouldn't take the time to do a review if this motel was not worth letting ppl know just because it dosen't have a hilton,four seasons or marriot name dosen't mean its not great for a family vacation.I recommend this motel to anyone who just wants to relax on the ocean and come back to a nice clean cool room to eat or sleep..its right on a live strip and if u wanna party,its close to everything,but the motel is quiet and is right for laid back ppl..

my family has stayed here for fifteen years.our accommodations or treatment were not what we had in the past.we ask for our money back before we moved in the room but was refused after demanding our money back we were finally moved where we were suppose to be.sad,but we will not be back,it is (not the same).

We arrived our first night and had no a/c in the room and no one on duty to assist us. Next morning was told it would be fixed immediately. About 1 o'clock finally they came and exchange a unit, told us to leave door closed for couple of hours to cool room. 3 hours later still not working and room very hot. Checked with office and was told manager and maintenance worker were gone for the day but would call and if not fixed would move us to other room that was available. 2 hours later told no other room and no repair until tomorrow. Had to go purchase a fan to use in the room to be able to tolerate heat that night. 92+ degrees both days. Next day didn't move us until after 12. I asked for some kind of compensation and only offered half rate for an additional day. I asked for one night refund but was refused. They still didn't fix a/c in our old room and then rented it out again that night knowing the a/c had not been fixed!
