The Chateau Inn and Suites, Spring Lake

Beautiful rooms, very helpful and polite staff who really went out of their way to provide what we needed, very comfortable beds, very clean, great Jacuzzi, beautiful setting. Extras included books to read, board games to play and a nice selection of DVDs. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

My sister booked us two rooms for St. Patrick's day without checking other rating sites. I don't mind trying new places, especially for just one night. Upon our arrival we found both rooms (ground floor) to smell BADLY of mold, though her's was much worse. She changed rooms but had to pay the upgrade for a suite. I didn't want to spend more so I figured I'd suffer through it for the one night. We dropped off our bags and went out for the day, returning at about 10pm. We started finding ants throughout the kitchen and bath areas and on the table in the living area in both rooms. My sister even had ants on the ceiling in her bedroom. Too late at night to do anything. In the morning, after a disgusting sleep, we informed the "manager" of the problems to which he quipped, "Sorry about that" and tossed me my receipt. Seems he had our money and couldn't care less. I'm sure that there are rooms (second floor, maybe) that aren't completely infested with ants but I expected more concern from the manager. We put our bags in trash bags on the way home and upon arriving threw in a towel soaked with ant spray for several hours before bringing them inside the house. Also, the walls are paper thin here. We had a suite and could hear the people in the next room talking on the phone. BTW, beware of 5 ratings here as many places use down time and staff to boost ratings they know are falling. (check their Google ratings) Talked to other guests in the morning and NOBODY was overly happy with the place. There are many other great places in Spring Lake and I advise using one of them instead. So now at least you've been forewarned.

Charming, quaint inn. Located close to Spring Lake and just a short walk to the beach. I fell in love with this place years ago and will go back for a long time. This is a great beach for a get away with the Misses.

We recently took a trip to the Chateau for our anniversary, a yearly tradition. Being a 20 year resident of Spring Lake, I now like to go back every year to visit. My husband and I have stayed at the Chateau in the past, but this year we were very disappointed. We walked into our room to find a puddle on the floor. The ceiling was leaking and the leak later spread into the bathroom. Being that the leak was coming from the vent/light, my husband and I were nervous to use the light in there at all. As compensation we were offered a garbage can to catch the leaks and a $3.00 fire log. Upon checkout, I foolishly assumed we would get a discount on our room. The man at the front desk told me that they "don't do that unless the leak is over the bed". I'm happy to know that if I had slept on the floor due to a leak over the bed, they would have compensated us a bit better. Ridiculous! I will certainly not be back and will spread the word to all of my NJ family and friends.

My Fiancee and I booked a romantic weekend getaway and it turned out to be a nightmare. The air conditioning/heating system was noisy and fans ran all night long. Evidently they replaced the "window units" with cheap ones and we hardly slept the first night.We went to speak to the manager letting her know that we couldn't stay again and asked for the return of our money for the second night and she said she couldn't make the decision, however, the other manager would contact us. We were never contacted and never received our money. We would rather sleep in our car than stay there another night. Run away from this B&B unless you have strong sleeping medication since all of the rooms have the same cheap, noisy heat/air systems.

We read the reviews, and unlike others started to get a little nervous. Well...... about 2 days before we went down I contacted the hotel several times to arrange a special "suprise" for my girl. They were always very pleasant and accomidating. When we arrived, it was more than expected. The people were very friendly and couldn't do enough. Needless to say the service was excellent. The rooms were clean, the foreplace warm and the tub hot. Nearby are many great restaurants and a bowling alley with a great pool hall. The sunrises on the beach were beautiful despite the heavy wind. You get one duraflame log per day for the fireplace, but they were happy to supply us with as many as we wanted. The butter cookies that were out all the time were a plus! All in all, an excellent stay that I would recommend to anyone. We will be back again with the kids next time.

Loved the room, the bathroom, the balcony and the sitting room. The suites have DVD players and flatscreen TV's so you can play your favorite CD's or DVD's, dim the lights and relax on the king sized bed after a beautiful day at the beach, a bath in the over sized tub and a glass of wine with the one you truly love.
