Tarry Ho Campground & Cottages, Twin Mountain

went for a family vacation with a campground feel, but some comforts of home. stayed in cabin number 4. had a great stay camprground clean, pool kept clean daily, friendly owners, playground well kept. spent our days visting local area attractions. in good distance to all area attractions. spent our evening by the fire. i liked the fact that cabin had a front porch to sit in, in case it rained. also liked the lock on the door, since i have a two year old who opens the door himself. lock was a deadbolt syle too high for him to turn. campground very family oriented so it wasnt too crowdy or rowdy. would have loved to see a slide in the playground but that would have just been an extra bonus. would defiently return. price great about fifty dollars less a day than other campgrounds i checked for a cabin with a bathroom and kitchen. might not be as fancy as some campground but exactly what you need if you are looking for a clean peaceful retreat where you feel your children are safe. also loved the walkway down to the river which we didnt utilize until are last night. as for the bed bug comment let me assure you their are none. i am extremly cautious related to bed bug epidemic. and i thourghly searched cabin on entrance . no bed bugs. thanks for a great time. creighton family

The Tarry Ho Campground is now under new ownership as of 12/16/10. The entire property is undergoing cleaning and renovations to ensure a fresh new start for the 2011 season.

My daughter, 1 1/2 year old granddaughter and myself stayed at this place for only one night. We had bed bugs bites all over our heads and neck. I surely would not recommend this place. I am still feeling skeeved out!

My family and I have been vacationing at Carlsons for the past 15 years. We have vacationed there at least once in the summer, once in the Fall, and once in the Winter. We have always enjoyed ourselves. Great staff and we always felt it was our home away from home. Now my kids are grown. I still like going back either by myself or with one of my family or friends.

My family has been vacationing in New Hampshire for twenty years, and every year we spend our week at Carlson's Lodge. The proximity to attractions and shopping is great, you're within 20-40 minutes of anywhere fun in the White Mountains, and they have acres of their own to explore. We have also stayed in several rooms in the lodge as our family has grown from just two to five, their two room suites are what we now stay in. I cannot say enough about the lodge, it's become a part of our family traditions, we will stay nowhere but Carlson's when we are up north.
