Seaside Cottages on the Shore, Bar Harbor

As I said in one of my reviews, we definetly enjoyed this stay very much. We had all pots and pans that we needed, all linen, clean white towels, silverwear, coffee pot, grills, microwave, very clean fridge, no bugs, ect and we stayed in the older part of the motel as well as a new cottage. Both were very nice. Helen and Richard were very nice and I can't imagine her "yelling" at her staff. Besides there is only like one other cleaning lady that works there, the two of them work from sun up to sundown to make that place nice. I was there for 6 days and only saw and heard nice things. So what that town was a whole whopping 9 minutes from town. If you don't like that, stay closer and pay more money in season. If you want something brand new, they just built one right downtown Bar Harbor. I bet you won't stay there for 50, 60 or 70 bucks a night. For the price, this is a very nice place and if you're looking for great service, this is the place. If your cabin/room doesn't have something, chances are Helen will! Just ask.

This was a great place to stay. It was very, very clean and the owners were very nice and willing to help with anything we needed. We enjoyed out stay and would go back again!

We had a recent visit to Sunnyside Motel and Cottages for the week of July 4th. Our stay was wonderful. The owners Richard and Helen were very nice. They work very hard to make sure their guests are comfortable and happy. This is one of the cleanest places I've stayed. You can tell that there is pride in ownership. The pool is very clean as well, and there is a small play area for young children. I had the chance to stay in both the motel and cottages, and both are very nice. Cottage #7 was very nice, new and clean. Thank you Richard and Helen for making our stay wonderful! Hope to visit again! A&C Carson

Dirty place! Bugs, rust under the shower-on the old part of motel,old towels. Strange smell inside the cottage. I remember one thing-a woman (Helen-i think), she was nice for us, but when I heared how she was yelling on her staff-that wasn't nice. I was talking with one of that girls who worked there. That was really unfair. That Helen is really false-she's not so nice as I thougt.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunnyside. The cottage was adorable, brand new inside and spotlessly clean. It was more than large enough for two people. It's not exactly "close" to town, but after driving 1200 miles, what's another 9 or 10? We would definitely stay there again.

I thought that it was a very nice place.The cabins were very neat and clean. I don't need a castle to sleep in,and people can always go out to eat.

The location and the amenities are really bad. And worse of all there is no service to speak of. There are better and cheaper motels closer to Frenchmen bay than this one.
