Only snobs would not return

We have stayed in 5 star Hotels in Boston, Boca Raton, etc. and no stars in Scroon River near Lake George, North Pole NY etc. and this is somewhere in between. Not fancy, but very clean, very friendly, and very cute. The King size bed was new and comfy. It was fun staying in a cottage. We had a sitting room with two swivel rockers, a kitchenette with fridge and mirco and a shower with the most awesome water pressure and hot water 24 hours a day. It was like staying at a friend or family members beach house. Cozy and quaint reasonably priced and close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Worst case

The people are unfriendly, the service just bad and the cabins are old and decrepit. The only good news is the location, otherwise a worst case experience.

Home Away From Home

The Colony is well located near Bar Harbor and Acadia, Convenient location to explore all areas of Mt. Desert Island. The folks are friendly and caring. While the facilities are not new, they are clean and very comfortable. Excellent value. Our preferred place to stay when we visit the area.
