Peninsula International Hotel, Suva

My stay was spoilt at the end as i was tricked into paying double instead of just the room charge for having an accompanying guest . I managed to get my "refunds" back after a good chat with the reservations girls...guests please watch your back when making a booking koz they might just play you along. I hope they improve on this....

Service is very ordinary. Rooms and bathroom are well over due for maintenance. The water system in the bathrooms are hopeless!. Security on the other hand seemed alright. All the main gates would close around 11pm and security were pretty quick to open the gates if you arrived late. The service desk staff always seemed very unhappy to deal with customers. I doubt I will never go back. I agree its a cheap hotel for $100 so it has to be your last resort.

Me and my Husband had out honeymoon over there..i love it..i think the workers r nice..very friendly and i love the curry...hmmm....yum.....love the internet too....

Like: It's very nearest to the city, cervice is good.Rooms are excellent according to the price. Dislike: The restaurant couldn't provide all kind of food as they mentioned in the Menu! But the Chicken curry was yummyyy....lol. I hope i will be there soon. And i am coming again definately. cheers. Ferdaus

While living in Ba, Fiji, from 1993 to 1998 I always used the Peninsula while staying in Suva. Agreed, it had already a hefty population of Asian fisherman then, but the overall appearance was good, staff nice, rates very fair. I left Fiji end of 2004 and the reputation of the Peninsula already had slightly changed. One has to keep in mind that the hotel is on Robertson Road, the road with the highest density of brothels in Suva. Out of all accommodation on this sex strip, the Peninsula still shines out in a class of its own. But definitely not recommended for the timid or light-hearted.

the pool was right outside your door, the people were so friendly and the service was excellent, I am really looking foward to going back

I am from Fiji. We do not tip in Fiji. The fact that hotel workers in Suva Peninsula Hotel are coercing tourists to pay tips says alot about quality of the hotel staff. The hotel has always been mostly used as cheap alternative accomodation by local sporting teams, and as a drinking spot by locals. I do not recommend the hotel to tourists.
