Villas Marlin Condos, Zona Hotelera

Located in the heart of Cancun, you literally walk across the street to the best Mall Kulkulkan Plaza and one of the best restaurants (my favorite) in Cancun - La Distilleria. Beautiful pools, perfect beach, and great views - our rental had three balcony's overlooking the ocean. There is also a small grocery store on the property that sells items just slightly above what Wal-Mart sells them for - totally not worth going to Walmart. They sell just about everything you could need. We made several meals in the condo like breakfast & lunch (some dinner) as a great way to sidestep some of the overpriced restaurants! Many of the bus tours and island travel (busses & taxi's) meet at Kulkulkan Plaza, so you do not need a car to get anywhere you would likely want to go. I not only did a family trip to Villas Marlin, but a boys weekend, too and it was equally fantastic! I stayed in 615 both times - this condo has two queen beds, two full baths, new kitchen, livingroom, eating area, 3- balcony's, etc. Villas Marlin got hit hard by the hurricane, but the rebuild should be complete by Oct 1, 2006 - from whay I have heard it will be even better than it was before. This goes for the whole island of Cancun

We decided to stay an additional 3 nights in Cancun and booked these extra nights at Villas Marlin. As we checked out of Coral Mar early on Saturday Morning we needed a place to put all our luggage. So we arrived at 12:30pm @ Villas Marlin and they let us check in early. We were very happy because we were a family of 6 with a lot of luggage. Upon entering the unit 432 it had a very strong MOLD SMELL. We were not very happy so we asked Landy the maid if she had another unit that didn't smell so bad, and she said they all smelled worse than the unit we were given. I will never stay at Villas Marlin ever again. This place was a dump. Yes they disclosed that the pool was damaged, but they didn't tell us in order to go to the beach you had to walk through the damaged pool. NOT VERY SAFE AT ALL. THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD FOR ANYONE WITH ALLERGYS. We also tried to book @ another location but everything was full.
