An Unforgettable Experience!
By mannyg, 12/17/06
The first time I vacationed in Chania in 2005, I stayed in Ilianthos Village. I was so impressed by the service, the room, and all the amenities of the hotel, that when I visited Chania, Crete for the second time, I made sure that I would once again stay in Ilianthos and no other hotel. For the first time in my life, I really experienced what a five star hotel is like when I stayed in Ilianthos Village. My rooms were amazing. They were extremely spacious, very clean and modern, with very comfortable beds and large bathroom, that make you feel like royalty when you walk on marble flooring. In fact, both the interior and the exterior of the hotel are beautifully designed, with marble flooring, beautiful glass, and other such fine materials. What is extremely important, especially for the hot days and nights of the Mediterranean, is that the rooms are fully air conditioned, where you can adjust the temperature to your desire. The rooms were cleaned, beds made, bathrooms cleaned and new towels changed on the daily basis. I have also never seen such a complete set of amenities and services in one hotel as I did in Ilianthos. The food is another distinction of Ilianthos. There is a buffet-style breakfast, with fine meats, hot breakfast, and wide selection of fresh fruit. The hotel has a full service restaurant, where you can choose to eat either inside or have your dinner under a romantic moonlight with a fresh light breeze from the Aegean sea. Put simply, the food in Ilianthos is exquisite. I especially enjoyed tasting the traditional Greek cuisine. All of this at very affordable prices!!! The location of the hotel is also very convenient. Whats very important is that the hotel is situated right next to the beach. The hotel manages the part of the beach that is next to it, so the sun beds are free of charge for their guests, and if you get thirsty or have a craving for ice cream, the hotels bar staff will bring your order right to your sun bed. Perhaps it is the staff of Ilianthos that goes above and beyond to provide a great service and satisfaction to the guests that makes the vacation experience so memorable. I found the staff to be super friendly, and very knowledgeable. The key was that I was able to arrange renting a car, excursions, and other activities all at the comfort of the hotel. They provide great guidance and assistance in arranging excursions to other cities in Crete and going to other islands, as well as arranging transfers to/from the hotel. Overall, both times that I have stayed in Ilianthos were an unforgettable experience for me. Put simply, staying in Ilianthos Village while vacationing in Chania is like vacationing in paradise. I certainly cannot wait to go back there again, and I wholeheartedly recommend for anyone who is planning to vacation in Chania to stay in Ilianthos Village!
