Winter '04

Stayed Feb. '04. Very clean, nice staff.
As in all hotels in Amsterdam, the room are very small (I'm from NYC and used to small, but many complain).
This hotel has a lot of character, it is not new, so don't expect a gleaming new glass structure, if you look close you can see that the baseboard is worn, and the windows stick, but if you want a good place, close to just about everything, with a little bit of old world thrown in, try it.
In the winter take a room in the front of the hotel, it is beautiful when the snow is fresh on the Rembrandtplein. See if you can get a room with a balcony.
In the summer, stay at the rear of the hotel, you'll sleep better. The cafes on the plein are open all summer and the drinking goes on till the wee wee hours.
