We survived our stay at The Econo Lodge in Erie PA, barely.

Upon check-in at the hotel, we were given a letter that said that if we were not completely satisfied with our room, that a manager would gladly correct any problems. Well, there were many problems, but no manager on duty to help. Here is a few examples of what we went through: No working lights, no working remote, Pay-per-view was broken & we were instructed to report the problem to THEIR contracting Pay-per-view company, who told us that the hotel knew that the movies were down all day & would not be fixed. (We were assured up front that there were working pay-per-view movies, as this was why we stayed there), Broken molding w/ sharp edges on the floor, something resembling blood smeared all over the bathroom sink, counter & shower, along with dirty towels in the shower, wake-up calls when you don't request them, no heat, and a heater that catches fire ( with a sign on it that even says that it will catch fire if you set it past a certain #...the dial goes several notches past that #! ) and much more! Most important to note that we held the room with a credit card, but told them we wanted to pay cash. We were told that nothing would be charged on the card, and that we could pay cash on check-out. Well, we were promised a refund, when we had said that we wanted to cancel the room & go elsewhere, but that we would have to wait until 7 am when the GM arrived. At 7 am, no GM, just a housekeeper who was rude & threatening. Our card had been charged the same day we arrived for the whole amount. We never got an apology, refund or even got to speak with the General Manager. There is much more, but not enough room to write it all. Beware, Be warned, Be as far from this hotel as possible.
