Great Time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/11
Sandpiper Inn is one of the best hotel I've ever gone to. The employee and manager were friendly and caring. They were helpful as well. The room were clean. I went to Sandpiper Inn before, there was another manager, that was rude and wasn't friendly at all, but when i went recently there was a new manager name John. He was helpful and friendly. I called the hotel and made reservation for a certain room. He gave me the room I wanted. Also I would get breakfast every morning (Donuts, coffee, and bagels). I would go back there whenever I can. I felt like it was home.

Very friendly and Cozy
By Sammy, 8/30/11
As I entered the Hotel, I noticed the cleanliness and the comfortable environment. The staff was also very nice and helped me stay in a room me and my wife would enjoy. The sign outside said it was under new ownership and management and also the name has changed to SUN INN. There new management has definitely been a better change because of the great customer service I have received. The men at the front desk "Raj" and "John", who I assume are the owners are the very generous and go out of their ways to help. I cant complain at all about the stay and will come more often. The price was very cheap comparing it to the quality in which we stayed in being only 55 plus tax for 2 queen size beds. It also came with all the perks one may need with the hair dryer, iron etc. The best thing was, with the low price of the rooms, complimentary breakfast was amazing. A must stay

Pleasant and Peaceful stay
By ricky s, 8/30/10
After a long year of working I figured my son and I can go fishing in the marina in Winthrop Harbor, IL. We notice a nice cozy Inn near the marina and figured we would stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was fair and the rooms where very nice, big, clean. Maybe visit the town and the Inn more often!

Home Away From Home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/10
My Mother was a cancer patient at Midwestern Regional. We came to the Sandpiper for the first time in January, 2004, and stayed nine weeks for she took treatments. No one could have asked for a better place to stay. They were so kind to us, and there were other patients and their familes there too. We just all seemed to take care of each other. The staff of the Sandpiper could not have been any better to us, they always tried to make it better for us. It is hard to go thru what these cancer patients go thru and being away from home is hard but it was like being at home. My Mother always looked forward to going back and seeing everyone there, she made lots of friends while we were there. My Mother passed away on March 14, 2005 and I have not been back but I will never forget their kindness. Thank you employees of the Sandpiper and May God richly bless each and every one of you for all you do to help all the cancer patients and their families. I am writing this review in loving memory of my Mother, Ruth Fowler. I love her and miss her so much. Kathy White Geraldine, Alabama

It's not THAT bad...
By patricia, 7/19/08
The thing you have to understand, is that this is NOT La Quinta or the Marriot. I believe it is a family that owns and runs this hotel. It looks as a family run hotel would look. Not exquisite, but not dirty either. The room is nice; not well decorated. The bed and bath linen were spotlessly clean. The bathroom was clean. The staff is VERY friendly. I'm southern; I know what friendly is. The breakfast was pretty much boxes of cereal and dough-nuts. There is also a famous cat here (he appeared on the cover of Cat Fancy) and I found that rather amusing. Had I not taken into consideration that the hotel is a family owned business and not a chain, I may have given a more negative review. Considering that this is more like the Bates Motel (For lack of a better example. There is no lunatic there :P) than a Motel 6, I will give it a 4 star rating. (My one negative comment is that it is a bit overpriced. I would give it a $60 value)

home...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/06
It amazes me when i read some of negative reviews abt sandpiper inn.this motel mostly caters to most reputed canser treatment facility in the world.and if cancer treatment of america refers this motel than it has some substance to it.Yes i do agree that they had initally some cleanines problem and furtniture was allover.I guess its was because they were rennovating their rooms..and i personally feel rooms are clean and up to the mark.Else MRMC would have never recommended it.people giving out such low comments also forget the frendly attitudue of staff as well as going out of their way to help and make our stay comfortable..their cheerful face makes our day.Especially that fair Indian guy forgot his name who works almost 16 hrs everday and still smiles and make each and every guest special and goes out his way to help others.

Awful!!! Where do I begin
By laura, 1/2/06
It said on yahoo that it was a 4 star hotel. Unless the rating system is opposite this hotel isn't even a 1 star. I believe the owner must have made their own reviews because there isn't enough room to describe how horrible my stay was. The only benefit was we went to a nice resturant across the street. The room was gross, found dirty cut fingernails in the bathroom on the counter. Matress',lamps, and funiture up and down the halls. They did have wireless internet service, but as soon as I got connected someone tried to hack into my computer. Dead spiders on the walls...and I thought it was all over, but low and behold in the morning my car had gotten egged overnight!!! I would highly recommend that no one in their right mind... unless you have a lady of the night with, ever stay at this dump!

worst hotel ever
By Dolemite, 1/1/06
Whoever gave this hotel 4 or 5 stars better make sure they are refering to the right hotel. Absolutely horrible. They should have charged by the hour, unless your only alternative is sleeping in the car, avoid this place at all costs. If you have a nice car, sleep there. P.S. If you really dislike someone refer this hotel to them.
