Great value, great location, great place to stay.
The La Dona Luz Inn has an authentic feel about it. Certain parts of the B & B are over two hundred years old. All the rooms have different floor plans and all are decorated with quirky Southwestern artwork. Most have fireplaces.
My wife and stayed in the La Madonna suite. It was large and comfortable with a great north facing view of the mountains. The stairs were a little tricky for lugging suitcases up and down, but you have a lot of privacy from the rest of the B & B. The daily room service is attentive. For example, they made sure that we had ample kindling and firewood for the fireplace in the room. The blackout curtains made sleeping easy. The televisions were of high quality and had access to a number of cable channels.
You cannot beat the location. The La Dona Luz is situated directly across from the Kit Carson Museum, literally steps from the Taos Square and a number of excellent restaurants and drinking establishments. There is plenty of parking for customers of the Inn.
Breakfast was good, but not extravagant. The staff is very friendly. The owner, Paco, took an interest in our experience at his inn. Overall, it was a great value. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Taos.
