not really what you might expect
i'd heard a lot of good things about bisbee, so my wife and 4-yr-old and i went there this summer out of tucson. first off, bisbee is only a tourist attraction. i have no idea what locals do there. most of the restaurants and stores were closed and the town doesn't offer much after you get away from the tourist areas.
okay, the hotel. we stayed in the hacienda room which had a king bed and a sleeper sofa. due to the quality of the sofa, our kid slept on the floor. the bed was nice, though, despite the fact that the pillows were about as thick as cocktail napkins.
the tv was a 19-incher. get a good one, or don't get one at all.
the "bath" had no bath. it had a shower. it was a nice shower. i'm tall and had no trouble with the shower head. the towels, on the other hand, were ridiculous. small and rough and just plain wrong. my wife couldn't understand how anyone could put such things on a rack. i blew her off as being whiny until i tried to dry myself with one. and that was the deal--three people, two towels.
NO PHONE IN THE ROOM. nowhere on the site does it say that. granted, everyone has a cell phone, but bisbee doesn't get too many bars of reception.
the breakfast was AWESOME. no, really. they had a great little setup of melons, cheeses, danishes, coffee, juice, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. really simple and really good.
the good--bed (pillows notwithstanding), size of room, the historic element, the breakfast.
the bad--towels, ratty sofa, tv, no phone, no real way of contacting people about your room.
oh, and it was 129 bucks. that's too much. we stayed in resorts that were less expensive than that.
i'd keep driving next time.
