Riverwood Inn & Conference Center, Monticello

We had great service for our meetings, our meals were excellent! Very friendly staff, yes the place is aged, but kept up very well. Very cozy, quite and clean! We will be back!

What a wonderful place to have an event. We had our Corporate Event there - everything, I mean everything was wonderful. From the beautiful gardens to the staff that went out of their way. This is a hidden jewel. The prices were a little high, but reasonable. For any event, check out the Riverwood Inn, you will be happy that you did!

I was the florist for a wedding that was at this venue and I would avoid this place at all cost. We arrived to find nothing set up, no running water (at a hotel!!!) dirty/dying gardens, staff that was untrained and not helpful, a lovely dumpster that stunk outside the wedding tent, black water in the toilets, and the list goes on. As a vendor, I am there to work with the staff and the bride and there was almost nothing I could do. Between the broken glass and beer bottles in the parking lot and the mold growing in the so called "beautiful pond", I would save your money and go elsewhere. I was so happy to drive away.

We went to see Riverwood and fell in love with it, until we met with the coordinator. She was pretentious and rude. We were originally under the impression that due to the economy, they would be willing to work with couples and their budgets. When we met with the coordinator, she didn't even ask us to sit down and shot down any concerns we had about a budget. Most couples these days are slashing their budgets due to the economy and not being able to justify spending that much money. The lack of communication left a bad taste in our mouths. We were ready to shell out the money because it was so beautiful, but the woman I was in contact with never got back to us, until after 4 weeks I had to contact her. My fiance and I did find another fantastic location with very reasonable prices and very accommodating staff. If you are willing to shell out a bunch of money with bad service, then Riverwood is the place for you!

About 6 months ago My finance and I booked our wedding at this facility. We were quoted a price that it would cost for the reception which was well withing our budget. One week prior to the wedding we get an email with a break down of more costs, which turned out to be well over $2500. Then to put the icing-on-the-cake the wedding organizer asked for that money in two days of getting the email. The extra fees were not mentioned or listed in the first break down of charges. The wedding organizer gladly withheld this information until we had the rectption payed for, or so we thought. I have to say I would not have written this review if we would have recieved the final break down of costs in the first place. However, this is probably how this place takes advantage of their customers - after the customer has already spent thousands to begin with.

What a little treasure this place is! My husband and I were looking for a quite and romantic weekend get away and stumbled across this place. It's approx. 30 miles from Downtown Minneapolis, but seems like you are miles from the city. The suites are very unique and comfortable. Their flower gardens are amazing and the walk to the River is very peaceful. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

I had my wedding there and it was fantastic. I tought the grounds were absolutely beautiful and all of my guests had a great time. The guest rooms were great as well; we really enjoyed the hot tub in our Tower suite. We got a discounted rate because we blocked a bunch of rooms. I would definitely go back.
