No Safety, No Hospitality, No Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/11
The service was terrible. The person at the front desk wasn't at all welcoming. She handed us the key and told us where to park. The front sliding door was open, day and night with no lock to the entrance of the building. Anyone could have walked into the hallways. The room was fair, but the lighting was very low. The lighting made the room appear yellow. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, cereal in a container, and one carafe of milk about a quarter full of for both to use. There was one container of orange juice in a bowl of ice. There were baskets with nothing in them, and one with rotting fruit. If there was nothing other than coffee and two types of cereal there should have at least been enough milk for both. When I mentioned this to the front desk person upon checkout she didn't care or want to hear it. She went on with her business and gave a non convincing "sorry". You can tell she wasn't and they didn't care. The bottom floor was completely dark. I had to search to find the ice machine and where the continental breakfast was. The front desk never mentioned there was a breakfast. If you didn't read the website, you wouldn't have known. Skip this one. It's not all it appears to be on the website.

Turned off
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/09
My family has stayed here several times in the past years. The place has always been CLEAN and reasonable enough, the access to the beach is OK (you have to drive, too far to walk) and the pool is nice. The negatives are: they have not updated the rooms and the beds are BAD, and they offer very few ammenities. They gave us one KEY for two people!? Breakfast is ALWAYS the same. I thought that maybe there would be something new when we saw on the website a couple months ago that said they had a new hot tub, but it DOESN"T WORK (instead of fixing it they just took it off the website!). But the big TURNOFF is the RUDE STAFF that does not make an effort to accomodate you but just makes excuses. Last stay here unless they update and change their attitude.

Stay Somewhere Else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/09
Place is a third rate hotel or worse. Everything is done on the cheap. I would recommend you find somewhere else to stay-or else you may regret you stayed at this "hotel".

Made us move
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/07
Made a reservation 6 months in advance. When we arrived we were informed that our second night stay(reserved for four nights)we would have to move to another room since they indicated that they had booked our room to another person. I dont understand why we would have to move, no one books a room by room number(they could not give me a adequate response & were rude to us.)The room they moved us to was an standard room not a superior room that we were initially in and reserved. When it came time to pay the bill, they charged us for a superior room for all the nights stayed & said they would mail us the difference in price. Never received the price difference. Will never stay there again. The staff needs a lesson is curtosity & honesty.

Descent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/07
My husband and I can't get away in the summer too often because of the business we're in. So when he told me on a Wed. let's try and get a room that weekend, you can tell I had a hard time finding ONE evening for availability. Anyway, they did have one evening available and a kingsize bed, mind you. The room was clean and large, especially the bath- was huge. We had a balcony with a view of the golf course and boggy area with neat plants. We saw a few hummingbirds-which was cool. The air conditioning kept waking us up in the middle of the night it was so loud. I do have one complaint though, when checking in the staff member then was very nice. You're supposed to get a beach pass for parking on their private lot. We checked in at 5:00 and thought we could go check out the beach before we ate dinner. She said that she didn't have any passes. So we asked if we could have one in the morning. She looked at us weird and said that as long as you come back before checkout time-which we said we would- she would give us one. We thought we could get to the beach around 7:30- bring our continental breakfast with us and leave about 10:30. So the next morning we go to the desk and ask for the pass and she said, snotty mind you, we don't have any! I told her what the other gal said the night before and she snottily shrugged her shoulders with her hands up in the air...like so what. I asked her what she could recommend and she said..I don't know and looked at her watch and said the state parking will be open at 9:00. She basically said, just run along and leave me alone it's too early. One of the nice things that lead me to this place is the parking availablity because it's a mile or so away from the beach. She's tall and skinny with dark brown hair past her shoulders. All and all that really was the only thing wrong about the place. We really did enjoy our stay. But customer service is very much a lost art. It's a shame some people can ruin an uplifting atmosphere.

Most Luxurious Rhode Island has to offer!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/07
My stay began with impeccable service from start to finish. From the front desk attendant to the waitress in the bar, my stay was top notch, and I will defintely return. I was very impressed by the knowledgable hotel staff about the area and thoroughly enjoyed the expert service given. It was a truly rewarding vacation to spend time at a unique establishment that takes pride in going above and beyond the norms of the hotel industry. I highly recommend this establishment not only for the comfortable and relaxing stay I had in the hotel but also for the great service!

Great Family Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/6/07
May family and I absolutely loved the Winnapaug Inn. It is a beautiful family operated hotel. They gave us a great free breakfast every morning which was wonderful for the kids. We went to their private beach for free too. There Venice restaurant was incredible and a great value. It can't say enough about the service and attention to detail they provide. We won't be staying anywhere else again. This is the resort we have always been looking for.

Best resort in misquamicut
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/07
I bring the kids and of course my husband to Misquamicut atleast twice a year. We got tired of the usual place we stay and decided to try something different. My three daughters loved the change. Winnapaug Inn has an incredible heated out door pool right beside a golf course. The view is incredible from our private balcony. The breakfast was free. Their restaurant was incredible, service was great. The hotel rooms are clean and moder. The whole experience was just wonderful.. We Can't wait to come back in another few weeks.
