Worst value I have ever experienced for a hotel.
A sign outside states "Lowest Rate Guaranteed" yet I was charged $129 for one night, $60 more than the Inn a block away. Despite repeated requests to have the guarantee honored and the rate reduced, I was given the run around and a vague promise that the manager would call me. He did eventually call me, but was completely unwilling to honor the guarantee. For a place that prides itself on being "the best value under the sun", it was truly a ripoff. I have never paid $129 for a motel before and will never choose Days Inn on my travels again. Please choose another inn that actually promotes its lowest rate with honesty and integrity.

Most likely won't stay again
By Terrie, 10/19/09
I normally don't mind older (well kept) motels, but I have to say that I wish I'd spent a few more dollars at a different motel. We got 2 rooms for 1 night. The rooms had ants. My son complained and was given a can of Raid (and then the room smelled pretty badly) and when he moved the bed away from the wall (that's where the ants seemed to be) he found a used condom. The room I stayed in had ants as well, but more like a few stragglers - I found them on the night stand and the sink counter. I did check both rooms first thing for bedbugs (I do it now as a habit) and didn't find any traces, nor did we find any bites on us. The parking lot is striped for sub-compact cars, so all the larger vehicles take up a space and a 1/2 - if the motel is full, there's no place to park. The manager had to move his car and clear stuff from a carport/storage area so we could park (there's only room for 2 or 3 cars on the street). I didn't hear any noise from the rooms on either side of me, but could easily hear my son walking in the room above me, and their toilet flushing sounded like water rushing thru a shute. To be fair, I found the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean. The shower curtain was on a curved rod and had weights so it didn't blow on your legs as some do. We opted to not partake of the continental breakfast so I can't comment on that. A microwave and small fridge seem to be standard in the rooms, as well as a small coffee pot. If we find outselves again in need of a motel in that area, I'll try one of the others that are within a few blocks.

BEDBUGS
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/09
This property does not even meet Days Inn Sunburt rating. I stayed at this Days Inn and have now been dealing with Bedbugs for the last month. I was bitten several times before checking out. Only get get home from my vacation to find that Bedbugs and gotten in our luggage and we had brought them hope. Days Inn corporate will not take any part in the matter, claiming that it's a francise and they do not deal with complaints. Look this property up on Better Business Bureau .com they have a C- rating. The Castaic will not resolve our Bedbug complaint. The location is 5 miles from Magic Mountain. Stay at holiday inn. It's 30 dollars more but you wont have bedbugs. They also keep the swimming pool and hot tub heater off. You have to ask them to turn it op then wait for it to be heated. BEWARE!! I do not want anyone else to have to suffer like we have.

Quiet, inexpensive place to stay.
By Cody Graham, 5/15/07
We were just looking for a cheap place to stay, and found this place over the internet due to it's closeness to Six Flags Magic Mountain. There were places closer, but I can drive 4 freeway miles to save $50 (that was the difference between the cheapest in Valencia, and this place). Anyways, nice, clean, decently sized room. Had a little bit of a musty smell like it hadn't been used in a while - no big deal, it wasn't dirty, so a few minutes of open door and all was well. The bed was nice, tidy, and clean, but a little firm for my likings. The best thing about this place is that it sits away from the main streets, and our parking place was concealed from view (important to me, as I have a "high-theft-rate" car). Not a bad choice, and we'll definitely consider it next time we are that way... Supposedly there was free wifi, but I didn't bring my laptop (this is a nice gesture, many nicer places charge 8-15 dollars a day for this service)

Decent if you just need a place to sleep
By ElizabethR, 3/3/06
The hotel is quite old the rooms reflect that. The beds were hard and Air/heat hardly worked. The service was very dry. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is cheap and near Magic Mountain.

Decent Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/04
The Hotel was descent with friendly servace. But its age did show especially in the shower, were it looked like it was falling apart, there were also ants in the bathroom. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but there was no dead bolt on the door, it just had the little chain.
