Mixed feelings
The Vittoria is a rather large tradidional hotel in Trapani. It's located centrally in Trapani, close to
the main shopping areas and a 10 minute walk from the pedestrian zone.
On the plus side, the personnel was really friendly and spoke very well english and even some german. The room was modern and clean, had air conditioning and contained a fridge, a safe and a decently sized TV. There was free WLAN internet access in the lobby and a bar that was open in the evening.
Even though the hotel was close to a main street, the room was not too loud.
On the minus side, the breakfast was a desaster. There was a small selection of filled croissants and
very little else - no cheese, no meat, no toast, 3 lonely slices of baguette bread and some cake that
must have been pretty unpopular with the guests because it had a healthy dose of mould inside. Even though the breakfast was labeled as open-end by the staff, there was only one other table occupied and the waiter disappeared after serving a coffee, so there wasn't a coffee refill either. For a hotel that acts as a first-class place, this was unacceptable.
Also the bathroom had neither a window nor a fan, making a bathroom visit a potentially smelly affair.
The hotel was in the in the middle of the pack of the hotels we visited in Sicily (all roughly 70-90 Euro per night), so it at 92 Euros it wasn't exactly a bargain, but the hotel is a decent place to stay for a few nights - as long as you stay away from the breakfast buffet.
