My husband and I stayed 6 nights at this establishment. Yes, it needs an face lift, but what I appreciated more than anything else were the men and women who worked there. Not one person was pretentious. Each one was professional, courteous, and truly helpful and kind. Our room was cleaned daily. Two men with whom I dealt most of the time, Eddie and Terry were wonderful. The employees made our stay worthwhile.

Other than its location, smack dab on the beach, and an okay bar, this place has nothing going for it. Rooms are small, whithered and dirty. Had issues with stains on sheets, towels, floor. Dust was everywhere and for the first time in my life, I didn't leave a tip for the maid. Staff did little to help and the manager pretended he didn't know about the problem--even though the staff called him right in front of me. There is no hot tub, as promised on its website and I hated having to get buzzed in to my room, made me feel like I was in prison. My advice: stay at the Marriot or La Concha next door, then walk over to the Altantic for its beach and bar.

Our room at this hotel was absolutely awful. It was dirty, there were stains on the sheets, a hair in the drawers, rust on the ceiling fixtures and part of the bathroom door was chopped off and withered. We felt so uncomfortable here, and complained to hotel staff several times. They did a little, but not enough - would not change our room. However, the location of the hotel was out of this world. Even though the location was great, I would never never ever stay at this hotel again. The room was just too disgusting. We kept waking up the first night, afraid that something was going to crawl on us.

First...if you go to their website, it can be very deceitful!The hotel is not that color, is it white, the rooms are not THAT nice and the bar needs upgrading. First let me state the good parts about this hotel. I did NOT see any roaches at all as I have read on other reviews. The hotel is in a very safe and perfect location for great food and shopping, such as Gucci, Cartier, Louis Vitton etc. The beach is literally your backyard and there is a bar right on the back deck. The bartenders were friendly, funny and very attentive and so were the staff on the front desk. The negative...this hotel needs a MAJOR face lift! The curtains have rips on them, the comforters are older than dirt, housekeeping needs to be trained to vacuum the floors but most important, our doors kept getting jammed. We had to struggle with the key (and they only give you one, NOT a set if there is more than one person) to get the door open, worst the door got jammed from the inside also, MAJOR fire hazard. I did go to the front desk and ask for assistance and they did fix the problem but they indicated that they also have problems with other rooms. I wonder "why NOT change ALL the locks?". Would I go and stay there, yes because of the location, beach and bar. If you don't mind a place just to sleep (oh, at least they changed all the sheets every day) then this will be a place to stay, but don't expect The Hilton or Trump Towers!

this place is a dump it was absolutly filthy i was scared to take my shoes off there was that many cockroaches crawling on the floor is there no basic standards for hotels here.dont go near it.........

Price is VERY reasonable - great location, friendly people, right on the beach - and close to everything! Everyone there is friendly - great place to chill out from the stress of Boston!

I stayed for a week with my best friend. When we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome and were very fun to hang around with. When we informed them about there being no air conditioning in our room, they upgraded us to ocean view with no charge and gave us a couple of rounds on the house. They informed us on tours to the rain forest and bus routes to go into Old San Juan. The gentleman at the front desk can be brash and sassy but it's all out of fun. If you're not pretentious, pompus, or prissy then this place is ok for you. I'm going again in 2005.
