Tropical Seas, Myrtle Beach

My daughter and i just stayed at the Tropical Seas and we enjoyed our stay. Had already read some reviews, like there is no coffee in the rooms and i must say we stayed in the King Suite so for the money i felt like they should supply coffee. There was a pot, so i had to go to store and buy filters and coffee which i have never had to do. The area was great i think, I love the views from the balconys!! The pizza at mama mias on site is great ! The beds slept very good, pillows a little hard for me, my daughter liked them so there you go! It was cozy at night, heat and air worked fine. They dont have key cards, they still use the old keys, but was not a problem for us. Rooms needs updating, i guess my complaint is that the rooms smelled musky and i did not like that. on the balconys there is carpet and i think that needs to be taken up , it gets wet and and i think that may where the smell comes from alot. All in All though, we had a great time and would i stay there again ? Absolutely ! i know now to bring my own coffee and pillow !! hahaha..It was clean and that was the MAIN thing and NO BED BUGS !! we checked first thing !!!

This is our 4th stay at Tropical Seas in a year. The people are so nice & friendly. The hotel is a little older & yes they still use "real" keys but they work everytime, unlike the new plastic keys that sometimes fail. It is always clean! We were planning on staying 4 days but enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra day :) We look forward to another enjoyable time at Tropical Seas!!!

First of all the staff was very helpful and just really welcoming. We orginially booked a inside hall room but when we got there we decided we wanted a view. Jo and Stephanie helped us upgrade to an oceanfront which had a great view especially at night. We were surprised that we could use everything at the crown reef the kids enjoyed the lazy river as well as the pizza place on the 2nd floor. Housekeeping kept us stocked with clean linens and they were a lovely bunch of ladies. Overall our stay was wonderful and even though the hotel is an older hotel we had a blast and hated to leave.

I read all the reviews but still decided to stay at Tropical Seas. I must say for an older hotel my eff room was very clean. Kitchen was small but I didn't do much cooking anyways. I asked for extra pillows and they were brought right up to my room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this property if you are looking to pay less w/o the glitz.

I called a few days in advance to see if by chance they had rooms. I was looking for a place to stay for the weekend with my family. Mind you online I should have been a little leary because it was kinda outdated. But I went through the reviews and didn't see any that were too bad. Nothing to prepare me for what was at the end of my 3 hour drive. I drive up and it doesn't look too bad. I park my car and get out to check in. Again I should have ran from the way the lobby looked. It was beyond outdated! There was one lady behind the counter that was awful. Made me upset from the start. Good thing she had a "personal" phone call to tend to. The next lady that helped me was pleasant. Again there were signs everywhere that said " You won't be refunded for early checkout". (Red Flag) They charge you for the entire room at the time you check in. Which is just wierd. The lady hands me my outdated house keys! They were actual keys! I got two of them. There was also a sign that said " You will be charged 15.00 to rekey the locks if you loose your key". What hotel on gods green earth still has darn keys??? GRR.. She then tells me that I am on the first floor. Let me back up by saying I called asking for ocean view. And requesting not to be on the first floor. Which is where I was. I asked to switch rooms because mine was horrible. Little did I know what was in store for me in my actual room. We get into the room on the 3 floor. It was a scene straight out of 1975. Not to mention it was old spice capital. It wreaked! I was so mad. Then to make matters worse the air was broken. It's August in South Carolina! While I was on the phone with the front desk asking how I get my money back the repair guy was at the door banging like his life depended on me opening it. When I went to the door he brought in a window unit on a dolly! So now I am sitting on the balcony watching all the kids yell and scream because I am right above the pool. Also it is hot on the balcony because of the window unit. I am not happy with the price I paid, but I am stuck because everything else is booked so I must stay till Sunday. Whatever you do, stay somewhere else or just stay home if you have to stay here! Worst time ever at Myrtle Beach!

i love the way it has an oceanfront and how the workers treat you. its a very beautiful hotel it has very beautiful rooms.

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach. Didn"t Know what motel to stay at, so I Got on line and decided to stay at the Tropical Seas. We loved the location and the staff were very friendly. Clean rooms and the view was amazing. If we ever go back we know where we"ll be staying. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

we had a terrible experience with this motel. the elevator broke with my wife & sister-in-law & her 3 year old in it. the rooms were not clean, but the worst thing that happened is that my mother had $400 stolen out of her room. she found out later it was one of the maintenance men. the motel would not refund her any of her money. it was the WORST motel we have ever stayed at.

The last time my family went to Myrtle Beach we stayed at Tropical Seas and it was Amazing! I love this hotel, We plan on visiting this summer and I hope we stay here again!

I had read the reviews before heading out to Myrtle Beach and was very concerned because we had made reservations a few weeks before hand for several other couples who would be joing us.The reviews didn't do any justice to this Hotel.Yes it is a Older Resort,but for the money,what do they expect.A New HighRise with all the bells and whistles? Our entire group were Very Satisfied with this Resort and we are people who travel a lot and stay at several locations.The staff was very responsive to our needs and very knowledgeable in the area and events.
