Clover Pass Resort, Ketchikan

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and participation in the "Paint Alaska Pink" Salmon Tournament. Every detail was looked after so well. We were taught to use down riggers and the resort boats. We had classes on knot tying and bait hooking. Cooking class taught us preparation of salmon and halibut. The big thrill was going out on a Charter with Rick and 5 women came in with 51 fish..5 of which were halibut. We had massages and pedicures and the meals were wonderful. Tournament Day dawned sunny and bright and we were off! Pretty exciting time on the water..we had a whale come up by the boat..awesome. Winners were able to donate their prize money to the charity of their choice and I am pleased to say I came in second but had to split the prize money with a teammate...we both had a Pink that weighed 4.5# but that was ok...we were TEAM Fishin' Chix and I can't wait for August 11, 2012. THANKS TO EVERYONE AT CLOVER PASS RESORT. YOU DID GOOD! REALLY GOOD.

You couldn't ask for better service. From the "kids" on the dock to the bartender it's all about making making your trip an experience that you won't forget. I originally thought that I would make this trip as a one time Alaska experience. Fooled me. The fishing is outstanding. Their claim that "you can catch from the dock" may be true. As for me I take one of the provided skiffs and head out a few minutes and catch ' um. I like to upgrade to the 20' "Yellow Boats" for a couple of days. Fast, safe and already fitted with downriggers. 4 folks on these is not uncofortable. One drives, 2 or 3 fish and one of the three nets. I also enjoy the charters. The charters are great for stocking the freezer. One trip (it happened to me) can produce limits of the 4 Salmon types available and Halibit limits. Also the food is GREAT.
