Rip's Country Inn & Motel, Bowie

when we walked in everything was fine up to when i got my meal i ask for my pork chops to be well done it wasn't n it was cold i ask for manger n when she came over i was telling her i'll take it off. i didnt ask for that i was telling u i was not happy.. then we watched everyone pick lemons out of pitcher with there bare hands....ewww i was not happy! i did fine a beer in other part which was more friendly then dinning area.. the chick beer

This place is not like it used to be!!!!!!!! The room we stayed in was making us itch as we went to tell the lady at the front desk she said she didnt believe it was the room. She said they were to packed to move us in another room but she could refund some of our money and we could check out the hotels down the street. What kind of service is that! It blew my mind. I had stayed here several years back a few times when under different managment and it was great. What a change. Im hoping it was not bed bugs but as soon as we left no more itchiness. Poor customer service.

I just called to make reservations for Thanksgiving only to find that the motel is closed...gone, done. Kind of sad...stayed there a long time ago, and really enjoyed it. Just thought I would pass the news along.....

I was there for 2 days and really enjoyed my stay...The Front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly..The rooms were clean. the location is great, and the food in the resturant was great...and I would definately recommend my co-workers who are law enforcement officers to stay..or just go for rest..

The rooms are basic but clean. We always have great service here. The restaurant is excellent. Lots of food for the money.

From our first date, Rips has been a special place for me. Not only because of the wonderful times I had with my honey. But NEVER did I ever get a bad meal. We always walked out pleased with the food, as well as the service. We live 2hrs away, so we save RIPS for special times.Looking forward to going back.

Stayed at the inn but the staff was very rude so we asked to speak to the manager which was even worse. Weve stayed here once before this years ago, this place has done a complete 180, used to be wonderful. will never come back and will tell everyone to never come here either. This place needs a change before it falls to shambles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went there for lunch today at 1pm, telling the hostess this was our first visit. The hostess seated us in a cozy booth in a room where all the booths had horse names. (We learned later there are 2 banquet rooms, 2 dining rooms of booths, and an open dining room; along with a short bar and an adjacent liquor store and deli counter.) Although there were quite a few cars in the parking lot, the room we ate in didn't seem crowded. The waitress was very kind, and came by several times during our lunch to see how we were doing. The food was decent: we had the fish and chips, and an oyster sandwich. We tried the Granny's Surprise for dessert, and liked it. This will be a "return to" place for us.

We stayed here last minute and got the last available room. The room had three queen size beds. Everything was very clean regardless of what others think I think it was a nice place to stay. The hotel is older than others in the area but it was kept up nicely. Breakfast was a choice of Danish or Muffin, fruit, and coffee. The price was better than any of the others in the area. The staff was friendly if I needed to stay in a hotel again I would stay here.

Breakfast at Rip’s in Bowie… a very big disappointment. We decided to give Rip’s another try after over a year of avoiding the place. We had given up on their Saturday buffet after three bad breakfasts in a row. The only good thing I could say about the buffet was the omelets made to order - they were very good. Everything else was a let down. Twice I ended up going looking for the coffee pot when our server did not come back except to deliver the check. Most of the food in the buffet line was only slightly above room temperature. The plates were warmer than the sliced ham (sitting in water), pre made scrambled eggs, sausage links. Even the sausage gravy and biscuits were not as warm as the plates. The fresh fruit suffered from being too green and being cut too close to the rind. Far too many pieces could not be cut with a fork. Today we had great hopes of a better meal (they discontinued the buffet three months ago). As we ordered off a breakfast menu, my wife asked if she could get the home fries well done. Our server said she did not think so as they were all pre made and in a big tray. I will say that my pancakes and scrambled eggs were warm. The sausage links and home fries were as bad as they were when they had the breakfast buffet, except the plate was not as warm. Apparently the “cooks” could not be bothered to throw them on the griddle to warm up while the eggs were cooking. When the server gave us our bill, we mentioned about how poorly some of the food had been heated. The server even told us the kitchen staff would yell at them if they mentioned any customer complained about the food. When we talked to the manager about our food, he said he was sorry and that he would talk to the kitchen staff. Will I go back? Why bother! I may live in bowie, but I will drive to the Daily Diner in Odenton or the Silver Diner in Laurel for a good breakfast.
